1927 Ford Model T Rat Rod Description

Rat rods are probably more about art and sculpture in motion than hot rodding and transportation, nd that's where their beauty lies. This 1927 Ford Model T isn't practical transportation, t isn't fast, t isn't a show piece, ut it offers a delightful firefighter theme and dozens of interesting details that are all part of what make rat rods the most interesting things on four wheels. You can still see the Model T coupe under the satin black paint, ut it's been chopped, hanneled, nd modified drastically from its original form, reating something entirely new. All the wood is gone from the body, o it feels surprisingly robust going down the road, nd the trunk was custom made and uses a louver-filled lid for a custom old-school look. The doors offer fresh steel skins and a neat chop job to match the roof, nd the bright red and yellow touches add to the fire chief look. The doors sport fire department logos and the siren and revolving red "gumball" light are cool additions (they're also removable if they're not legal where you live). You'll find dozens of other unique details, ighlighted by a cut-down Model A grille with teeth and tongue, luggage rack on the roof, 959 Cadillac taillights, nd the drilled windshield visor that gives it an industrial look. You can spend hours looking this car over and not see all the wonderful custom touches. The interior is likewise custom made and wonderfully funky. Most notably, lmost everything on the floor is diamond-plate for a heavy-duty vibe and the custom-stitched seat cushions are a cool take on the traditional Mexican blanket theme. The ultra-tall shifter with piston knob and deep-dish steering wheel are fun twists on familiar tools and there's a useful array of switches and gauges in the dash, hich itself was cribbed from a 1960 Chevy C10 pickup. There is no radio, o heater, o navigation system, ot even a speedometer, nd if you're looking for any of those things, ell, erhaps you're missing the point of the rat rod. What this one does offer is a surprisingly comfortable driving position and good levels of fit and finish, ecause all the rough edges you see are purely intentional and beautifully executed. The trunk is pretty much filled by the axle housing and gas tank, ut if you need to carry some stuff, his T will help you out.In lieu of the traditional Chevy V8, his one sports a rebuilt Chevrolet 153 cubic inch inline-four from an early Chevy II. There's a fresh Holley carburetor under a custom air cleaner assembly and just for fun, omeone put a Cadillac script emblem on the valve cover. An HEI ignition system lights it up and a custom side header and exhaust pipe gives it a racy exhaust note that is more Offy than utilitarian econo-motor. A good-sized radiator up front keeps it cool without much effort and a TH350 3-speed automatic snaps off authoritative shifts. Out back, he rear end from a 1948 Ford truck, o it's not geared for high speeds but it will cruise pretty happily at 65 MPH. The frame is entirely custom built to give it that long, ow look and it has the ideal stance sitting on 19-inch Model A wheels up front and 16-inch Ford V8 wheels out back wrapped in old-school-looking dirt tracker tires. This Model T is all about having fun and every single detail on it was done with a wink and a smile. It's also nicely sorted and a blast to drive, nd we guarantee that you'll never, ver drive something that attracts more attention than this. Call today!
