1968 Ford F100 Longbed with 360 engine and Auto Trans
1968 Ford F-100 Ranger Description
1968 Ford F100 Pickup
I acquiredthis truck in a trade a few months ago and am finding I don't have time to put into restoring her. I have too many other projects going.
I've driven her about 100 miles since I've owned her. Other than replacing the starter and starter solenoid, I've done nothing to her. The previous owner was a young enlisted kid and wasn't able to provide much history on the truck...so, I will do the best I can describing what I know. Feel free to ask questions since I probably won't cover everything. Be sure to study the pics before asking questions so we both can save some time.
I work from home so I am generally available to show the truck. Message me to set an appointment if you wish to see the truck.
This truck is also listed locally. I reserve the right to cancel the auction for a local sale.
Ford F100 Ranger LongbedAuto transmissionRuns and drivesHas a 2 barrel Motocraft carburetor (needs to be tuned/dialed in)The engine appears to be original except for Edelbrock valve covers. The exhaust appears to be newer and appears to be upgradedThe factory 5 gallon behind-the-seat gas tank was deleted and dual 19 gallon tanks addedAn aftermarket stereo is wired in. A transmission hump audio box was also place in. I assume this is for a sub/woofer.The original paint color is light blue. The truck has been repainted black, The paint job quality is poor. The windows currently have a limo tint. The body appears straight. I can't find any signs of body damage or accidents.I found a small rust spot under the hood, a small one in the rear passenger wheel well, and couple areas of bubbled paint. The seat has rips. I'm not sure if the seat fabric is original. There is an aftermarket seat cover that will come with the truck. It was removed for pictures. The steering wheel is aftermarket. The truck's horn is disconnected. There is a cruise control switch wired in. I have not tested it.The original carpet appears to still be there. It is worn. The brakes feel like it's time for service. There is still stopping power but not as much as I think should be there. The rims appear to be aftermarket.Tires are in good shape. I'd estimate about 70% life left. The side mirrors appear to be aftermarket.I believe the grill is for a later model truck. A previous owner was attempting to hot rod the truck. At around 70 - 75 MPH, the truck has a front end shimmy. I suspect an alignment and balance is in order.I haven't fully tested the electrical but all appears to work properly. The cargo light might be disconnect or burned out.A few pieces of exterior trim are missing. Some of the exterior plastic may be cracked or faded. See pics.A second fuel gauge was added. Neither the primary or secondary fuel gauge are hooked up. Only one for the fuel tanks is in use.
That's all that is coming to mind right now. This is not a perfect truck but is an excellent candidate for restoration, hot rodding, or rat rodding. Please ask questions, review the pics, and/or come see the truck.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is due at the close of auction. Balance is due in 7 business days. No pay bidders will be reported, the auction cancelled and the truck will be relisted. I cannot assist you in shipping other than handing over the key and documents to the shipper you arrange and finance. Local pickup is welcome.
