1989 Ford F-Super Duty 7.3L diesel cab and chassis - needs TLC but ready to work
1989 Ford F-450 XL Description
Selling a 1989 Ford F450 that I bought as a project. Was going to put a flatbed on it and convert to 4wd to use as a plow truck, but may just go with something else. It's a 1989 F-Super Duty 2wd with 7.3L IDI diesel and ZF5 manual transmission. Odometer shows 82,026 miles. Title shows mileage exempt because of the year. This may be 182k miles if the odometer rolled over. I have no way to verify, but I know the truck used to have a welders body on the back of it, so I doubt that it ever rolled over as welding trucks usually don't venture far from the shop. But take it for what it's worth. Truck runs great and drives just fine. Rides like a Mack truck with no weight on the back though, which is why the dually wheels are off it right now. I do have the other two wheels for it and they come with the truck, but they don't have tires on them. Truck is in decent shape overall. Frame was cleaned and painted when the old utility body was removed. Cab does have some rust in the rockers and corners, most of which has been patched, and a few small pinholes in the floor. No carpet in it right now. Seat has wear as you can see, but not totally torn up. Could make a nice 5th wheel hauler for someone, or put a utility body back on it, or whatever else you want to do with it. This is a real 14,500gvw Super Duty truck, so it has the 4wd transmission with the driveline mounted e-brake. Has a fresh oil change, new fuel filter, air filter and new glow plugs, along with a brand new starter. I also just completely rebuilt the rear brakes. New rotors, pads, calipers and seals. Over $600 just in parts alone right there. You can drive this thing home. It is not currently PA inspected as it was off the road for a while, but should pass as far as I can tell except for maybe the tires as they are pretty old and should probably be replaced. The rigged up rear fenders and lights are there just to keep it road legal. They're just bolted on, not permanently attached. Thanks
Truck is located in Collegeville, PA, about 1/2 hour or so northwest of Philadelphia. Buyer needs to pick the truck up here in person or arrange for shipping on their own. I will not quote or arrange any shipping services, this will be up to you. The truck will drive onto a trailer or carrier just fine if you plan on towing/shipping it. Should also be fine driving home a decent distance as I can't really forsee any issues with it. Potential buyers are more than welcome to come inspect the truck in person before bidding. But please keep in mind that a winning bid is a binding contract to purchase the vehicle, not buying an appointment to see it. A $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal is due within 24 hours of winning and the balance due within 7 days by cash or cashiers check. The vehicle can be stored for up to 2 weeks at no charge to allow you to arrange pick-up or shipping. Any longer than that will need to be discussed prior to bidding, as long as the car is paid for within the required 7 days. Any question, feel free to contact me. Can arrange viewing the vehicle pretty much any time if needed. Thanks
