1962 Ford Unibody Shortbed Truck
*Hard to see in pictures, but there is a thin red line dividing paint tones.*
I just picked this up from the daughter of a good friend of mine that passed away back in September. This was one of eight vehicles he left her and she didn't want it and just wanted cashed out, so I bought it to get it to a good home. It’s way too nice of a truck to let go to waste, and someone will love to own and drive it. Is it perfect? No. Is it a good solid, straight clean truck that looks and drives good? Absolutely! I don’t need another one and honestly am just not a “Ford guy”. No offense to the guys that are LOL!
It is a small back window, ’62 short-bed unibody. It has a 351 Cleveland in it, a C6 transmission and a Ford 9” rear end. Warren knew all the specs on the motor that was built within the last 5 years, but honestly I don’t. I know it was built by a performance engine shop down in southern Oregon, but that’s about all. It runs very strong and has an awesome lope to it through the dual exhaust. It does have the later 65 and up I-beam front suspension with power steering and front disk brakes, so I think it was reframed at some point onto this ½ ton frame maybe. The front I-beam suspension and cross-member are all factory riveted to the frame like it would be from the factory. The VIN number starts with F25, so I assume this means ¾ ton? That’s why I think it’s on a mid to late 60’s ½ ton frame?
If you are looking for a good clean truck that will get tons of attention and looks that you can drive every day, or a project for a complete restoration or pro-street, this is a great one for it. According to the VIN it was built in San Jose, Ca and looking at the underneath I believe it has spent its whole 54 years here on the west coast.
The whole interior is basically brand new. A few things I noticed looking it over. It could use new door seals. The gas tank has been relocated to between the rear frame rails. The window tint has some bubbling. The front right cab mount could be replaced as it is pretty flat. As far as rust it is pretty solid, but does have some in the front left cab support outside the rubber cab mount. The turn signal switch is pretty loose and worn out. It has no windshield wiper arms or blades. The roof of the cab inside has been painted, insulated and soundproofed, but it doesn’t have a headliner. The big, ugly tailgate latches have been removed and smoothed and the latches are inside for a cleaner look. There are a few small paint cracks around the rear cab corners which is totally normal on these unibody’s. It also has a B&M floor shift in it.
I would normally get a good walk-around video and a driving video to post, but we just had 6” of snow and it wouldn’t be pretty or fun. I would be happy to answer any questions if I can. The truck is obviously sold as-is with no warranty. The title was just put in her name and it has been signed for the new owner. I have no idea what this truck is worth, so there is no reserve. The shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I will help in any way I can with the carrier, etc. A $500 deposit is due at auction end within 24 hours and a certified cashier’s check or wire transfer within 5 days for the remaining balance.
Good luck bidding!

Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing for you Ford guys? Please take this into consideration when bidding. I will try to find the block casting numbers and post them. Thank you!
On Dec-12-16 at 14:32:01 PST, seller added the following information:The casting numbers on the block are C90E-6015-B with a casting date of 9F13 which I believe is (6/13/69). From the research I have done it is a 351W out of a 69 Fairlane. It also said this was one of the more desirable blocks because of its high nickle content. Please do your own research on this and again sorry for the confusion.
