1930 Ford Model A Coupe
This is absolutely one of the best barn finds I have seen in quite a while. This 1930 Ford Model A Coupe is very complete and will even run and drive! Just pick up a copy of Street Rodder Magazine and you will find a sweet Model A build gracing the pages of virtually every issue!! No matter how you build them, these are just plain cool!!! This car is complete enough to restore, but would also be the foundation for a great hot rod or street rod project! It is my intent to describe the condition of this coupe in as great detail as possible, but I encourage you to look at each of the photos and feel welcome to ask as many questions as you would like either via the eBay message board or by calling me (Chad) at (406)403-6921. This coupe does not have a title, but a notarized Bill of Sale on official Montana Motor Vehicle Department form will be given.
ENGINE/TRANSMISSION/REAR END: Although the engine in this car is not known to be the original, it is of the correct vintage and will run and drive. The transmission and rear end are said to be original and they shift and roll nicely. As you can see from the photo, the engine compartment is very complete and not known to be missing anything. I even think the radiator has been gone through as indicated by a tag found on it. All five wheels (including the spare) are included and the four tires on the car are fairly new.
BODY/SHEET METAL: As an 86 year old car goes, this one is in very good condition! The body on this coupe is very solid and requires only minor repair. The only areas of rust visible are in the lower quarter panels just ahead of the rear fenders. We at Montana Vintage Tin, LLC are Authorized Dealers for Brookville Roadster, Inc. and can supply all the needed replacement sheet metal, parts and accessories in a separate purchase. There are a couple dents in the driver’s side quarter panel, but they are very repairable. This body even has a deck lid, which is very rare for a barn find in farm country!! The fenders, running boards and splash aprons are in good condition. Bumpers are included in the front and the rear. The front radiator splash apron is missing (available as new reproduction part in separate order). The hood and grille shell are on the car and in reasonably nice condition. A brand new visor is included with the car. The structural wood in the body is in great condition and a brand new wood kit has been installed in the top (see photo). The floors in this coupe are solid and in good condition. The front floor is wood, but a steel (18 gauge steel) floor is available for order along with a recessed firewall if desired.
INTERIOR: Even though there is not much to the interior of these coupes, this one is very complete including the seat frame, gauge cluster, window garnishing, etc. As I mentioned, the structural wood in this coupe is very sound, and a new top wood kit has already been installed.
Again, this coupe has no title, but a notarized Bill of Sale will be provided to the buyer.
