1989 Ford Mustang LX Description

Up for sale is my personal 1989 Ford Mustang which has been swapped with a 4BT Cummins diesel engine.
It is being offered for sale in excellent running and driving shape, ready to hit the road as a daily driver and/or show car. Buy it today and drive it across country averaging high 20 MPG.
A little background on the car -
I picked it up in the farm country of Pennsylvania, known for their rust this car is a true survivor (to an extent). A guy had owned the car for 6years with the Cummins engine installed, once began a daily driver and ended being driven ~200 miles a year. He had bought the car 6 years prior from the Amish owner who built the car. Yes I said Amish. No expense was spared. The fella I bought the car from said the engine was overhauled and serviced prior to installing. The motor and transmission came out of a bread truck, a common donor candidate. The car has been running and driving for 6+ years with a Cummins powered drivetrain with little to no hiccups. The engine is all stock and has remained that way. I did adjust the fuel screw on top of the injection pump to allow for more black soot, which it has no problem laying out.
Continuing on, what we have here is a '89 NOTCHBACK Mustang with little to no rust on the car. Only rust being the drivers rear quarter panel behind wheel which includes a few bubbles that will need attention before long. The car was originally white. I had the car sprayed in a bright white to match the jams and engine compartment. If you're a painter or body guy, you will criticize the paint, but it's not bad for a paint job I didn't spend $7,000 on. Minor scrapes and scratches can be seen, but it's overall a pretty sweet job. The body itself is straight with no major dents. The motor/transmission are in PERFECT running order. The transmission is a 700r4 with overdrive. The engine purrs right down the road and the transmission shifts smooth. I tuned the pump to allow the car to blow black smoke when you want, but its very controllable. The car will shift into overdrive at about 65 and running at about 1200-1300 rpm this thing gets amazing mileage. The mileage on the odometer shows 46,xxx I am guessing this equates to 146,xxx as it is a 5 digits odometer. The swap has many less miles, probably under 25,000. The wheels are 4-lug '93 Cobra Replica's wrapped in virtually new BFGoodwrich tires. The rears are 275/40/17 and the fronts are 245/45/17. The car is on stock suspension. With the weight of the engine it gives the car a raked, mean looking attitude. Lastly, I added 3 piece smoked headlights to accent the white paint. The interior could be touched up if you plan to have a show car. The front seats, while very comfortable, do not match the rear bench. All of the gauges work (speedometer, oil pressure, fuel, battery, water temp) and are mostly accurate. The dash lights are finicky and work when they want. The radio I have not messed with but it's dated and probably doesn't work. The heater core as been blocked off, would be quite simple to hook back up. The A/C compressor is there but not hooked up. The interior is the weak point of the car. It is original and hasn't been altered to look good or flashy, spend a few bucks and get it to match the outside of the car. The interior is what you would expect from a late 80s car, and maybe I am being a little harsh on it.
Overall, I can almost guarantee that you won't get a car that gets so many awesome mixed emotions. Most people absolutely love it and can't get enough of it, few people don't understand it, and the Mustang purists hate it " why did someone hack up a perfectly good notchback ." Well I will say this, this car gets more attention than most all high end cars or fancy imports, it's plain awesome and you will be hard pressed to find a cooler swap for the money, in my opinion. I love the car and really don't want to let it go. My only reason for selling is I just started a business and with my other projects at hand, something had to be let go. This really is an AWESOME car. I have a clean and clear title in my name ready to go!
All sales are final. The car is sold as is with no warranties expressed or implied. I highly advise you to come look at the car before bidding and ask every last question you have. Please feel free to message me, I will answer any questions as quickly as possible. Once the hammer drops and the auction ends I expect the winning buyer to pay a non refundable $500 deposit within 24 hours and arrange a time to pickup the car. I can pick you up at a local airport or meet you locally.
