1966 Ford Mustang Base Description

I purchased this very complete 1966 Mustang Coupeas a restoration project as a gift for my granddaughter. I have the original window sticker and Owners Manual along with much other paperwork that comes with the car. The car needed a new fuel tank (comes with car), interior cleaning (done, but some time ago), some relatively minor rust repair (see pictures - an easy DIY repair), a motor tune-up (parts come with car), and a new battery (never got around to purchasing it).
Unfortunately, after buying the new fuel tank, fuel gauge sending unit, and tune-up parts, I was involved in an accident and severely broke my back. I can no longer complete the restoration I had just barelystarted. My loss can be your GAIN!
In full disclosure, I have never tried to crank over the motor so I can't guarantee what will happenafter you soak the pistons in Coke or oil and try to crank it. I have no reason to believe it won't crank over, but I'm not physically able todo so myself. Just trying to be upfront and honest. Look at my feedback and you will quickly see I've been on eBay many years and value my good name.
More about the Mustang! It has had a repaint very close to the original color. You could buff it out for a "driver car", or get an inexpensive re-spray for $300-$500 - doesn't need it but that is up to you. The chrome is original but in good shape for its age. The tires need replacing, they hold air and have tread, but I wouldn't risk my life on them! I would put new brake shoes and spring kits on all 4 wheels, again, just for safety. The rust areas at the lower front fenders and doors on both sides are small areas and a pretty easy fix for a basic DIY person (see pictures). There is a crack in the foam dashboard cover which you can live with orbuy anew one on eBay for $150. The front and rear seats are in presentable condition for a "driver car". The door panels are also in presentable condition for a 50 year old original 77,056 mile car, but personally I would recover the door pull handles with new vinyl you can buy for a few bucks at Walmart.
If I were restoring the car I would replace the headliner and carpeting. But that's just me! Again an easy DIY fix. I've priced new custom fit carpet on eBay at $125, and a new headliner for $75.
I have the correct keys for this classic car.

This is a no reserve auction with a minimum bid of $1,995 and aBuy It Now Price of $3,250. NADARetail is $4,960 in poor conditionto $24,720 in excellent conditionwith the 6 cylinder engine. It is 20% higher for the 289 ci V-8. It's easy to see the full potential of this classic original Mustang!
My sister had a 1965 Mustang convertible HO 289 ci V-8 when I was in college.I loved borrowing it - herfee to me for using itwas a wash and wax job. She had the cleanest Mustang in our home town. I thought the fee was very fair and I have many fond memories of that time period so long ago! I think I got more dates driving her convertible Mustangthan my 1964 Chevy Nova 2 door sedan. Youth is wasted on the young!!!
Happy bidding and I think someone is going to get a nice complete original 1966 Mustang Coupe at a most reasonable price. Good Luck.
