1966 Ford Mustang GT Description

Thank you for stopping by to view my auction for this beautiful 1966 Mustang GT tribute. Please read through the entire auction. I believe you will find many of your questions answered here. It’s a lot, but if you are truly interested in the car, you’ll read it all.

Low reserve. Way below NADA value.

I purchased this Mustang 6 months ago and began work on it immediately to transform it into a nice driver quality car. When I bought it, it already had been converted into a GT, so I kept it that way. This car was not originally a GT from the factory. I have spent a LOT of time and money on this car, but I lost my job shortly after purchasing it. So I’m sad to say she must go.

Condition:

Paint is extremely shiny. I paid $300 for a detailer to buff the paint. It took him three days. It’s a base coat/clear coat job. Paint isn’t perfect, but looks very nice. A couple nicks in the paint and blemishes. It’s black, so it shows even small flaws. Some dings weren’t fixed when the car was painted. Nothing horrible, but I want to be as detailed as I can be. The trunk has had some patches, as you can see in the picture. It seems solid now. RH quarter has been partially replaced. I had the driver side front floor pan replaced. The body shop did an OK job, but a little more metal work may be needed. The rest of the underside seems to be in good shape.

Interior is nearly all new. Seat covers are nearly perfect. Carpet is new. Headliner is perfect. Dash is perfect. It looks great. It smells new.

Mechanically, the car seems to be good to go. I’ve been driving it around a bit and it has a lot of get up and go. It definitely isn’t stock. My mechanic said it looks like they used performance parts on the engine when he was checking it out for me. The alternator belt needs to be tightened, as it squeels sometimes. I believe the engine has high performance lifters. They tap under load. My mechanic said this is normal for the way the engine was built. The car roars when you give it gas. The FlowMaster exhaust sounds mean but not obnoxious. The speedometer is about 20 MPH off. But the odometer works well. Headlights, turn signals, fog lights all work. Horn doesn’t work. Car is a little cold natured when it’s really cold outside. Takes a minute to warm up. Unknown actual miles.

If you’ve made it this far into the auction, congratulations. I want to thank you for stopping by to view my auction. I am not a dealer, but I have personally owned 15 or so early Mustangs. I also sell the parts for early Mustangs. I love the cars and know a lot about them. I have rebuilt 5 first generation Mustangs nearly from top to bottom.

As you can see from my feedback, I’ve been on ebay for 16 years with more than 1100 transactions and 100% positive feedback.

In summary, this car isn’t perfect, but it’s a really nice driver. For my reserve price, you’ll have a hard time finding a nicer one.
