1963 Ford Falcon Futura Description

1963 1/2 Ford Falcon 2 door hardtop. Only built for 1/2 a year, this car is rare in that it is a round body no post car. Originally a 6 cylinder car now has a 1968 289 2V with C4 auto trans. Motor has less than 500 miles since complete top end rebuild. Heads completely redone. Cam and crank were near perfect as were the cylinder walls. Car does not smoke even under cold start after sitting for days. I date coded the heads as well as the block and it appears this is one of the 289 motors that Ford used a 302 block when they ran out of 289 blocks in 1968. This car runs and drives. It is manual brakes and steering. Gas tank is brand new. I converted the motor to HEI ignition and has performed flawlessly. has Hedman Hedders and 18" glass pack dual exhaust exiting just in front of the rear tires. The front coil springs are brand new and spec'dfor a V8 car with air conditioning. The previous owner had lowered the car with cut springs in the front and lowering blocks in the back. It now sits at stock ride height.
I have found patch panels and some bondo in the car, but the frame rails, torque boxes are near perfect.Paint is about 10 years old and does have some bubbles, The floor is solid but has welded patches in it. Interior needs to be finished. I installed 68 Mustang low back seats but they need to be recovered. headliner and carpet are in decent shape, but will need doorandkick panels. Door handles were shaved by previous owner (not my preference) but I have working door poppers operated by remote switch and a key FOB. Passenger door window has a crack. Window is flat an can be cut and purchased at any glass company for around $50. Grill and headlight bezels are painted and could be re-chromed. They are straight and can be restored easily. There is a small dent in the driver side front fender and the valance under the driver side headlightis dented.
This car has a lot going for it and can be a driver or candidate for a really nice restoration. Most of the hard work has been done. If I were keeping the car, I would rewire it and repaint it. (something wrong about a Ford with Hugger Orange paint!) Send me a message and I can get you any information or picture you want.
