1974 Ford Thunderbird
1974 Ford Thunderbird Coupe 2 doors Description
This will be a no reserve auction for this nice t-bird out of a 16yr sleepover in storage. A few things were done at the time to make it runnable for the estate auction. I will list what was done, what i have done and what it needs. The story is a guy bought this at the auction HE said for the motor, but the car was too nice for that, well it barely ran he put it in his shop for 3wks then i bought it. It was only 2 spark plug wires crossed and it started running way better ! It is now able to cruise the pike at 75-80mph ford quiet ! The car is not perfect of course, but is really nice, original all except chrome valve covers ??? don't know who did that but its not the end of the world. 52xxx actual miles ! Oklahoma exempts the milage so i will not be able to sign off on that but all the documents in glovebox only add up to that, and all the parts being replaced were original stuff. The original starter, distributor, and coil were saved back to go with the car. I'm shocked, but everything works, all switches,.lights, pwr stuff, am/fm 8 tr, clock is trying to work !! It ticks off a few minutes more everyday, the door courtesy lights are not working a bulb is missing on drivers side don't know if it needs that to complete circuit or not but i am on it !! Let you know with an edit. PLEASE LOOK AT PHOTO'S and contact me for more photo's. Please contact me with any questions ! I drive this car everyday and it likes it !! Sold as/is where/is with no warranty. clean and clear title in my name, tagged and insured. I have photo's of underneath, trunk, etc. I removed the hood insulation because it was worn and hanging down but they are on ebay for 60$. It has a shimmy wiggle at 55-65mph, i think i have that figured out as it is pulling a little to the right, possible old swollen brake line not bleeding off making that brake hang a bit. Vinyl top has some splits around lower back window area but no rust there and really not bad, its ashame though the rest of it is so nice. I think i covered everything just please ask and look before bidding. WHATS BEEN DONE : Gas tank, fuel pump, original never been apart carb rebuild ( 4300 ), rubber fuel hoses, radiator, fan clutch, water pump, heater hose, thermostat, starter, battery, cables, solenoid, distributor, coil, spark plugs and wires, u--joints..complete service.. WHAT NEEDS DONE: Still has ( i think ) original shocks, a/c needs a clutch bearing, 1 line or hose, and condensor, and convert to r-134, possible brake lines ( rubber ones) has plenty of brakes but if that one is like i think then probably a rotor turn as well, or maybe an alighnment, and or front end parts, but i don't think so ( cruises too smooth at other speeds), the sunroof is operational but not functionable at this time it needs a part i found under the seat that kicks it up in back it is closed completely. My body shop guy said when they first tried it out it was probably stuck from sitting so long and kicked it out when shut again, he fixed it closed, i found that part later, so no biggy she'll work again. the paint is nice but has a design on front fender where a matt or something laid along time and condensation got to it. Tires are older michelins very nice though. THANKS AGAIN !!! I will be glad to assist in anyway with viewing or shipping !
