1948 Ford anglia Description
I want to start off by asking you to please call forhonest answers BEFORE you bid. Or better yet, ome by and look at the vehicle or have someone inspect it for you. I do the best I can describing my vehicles and I include very good pictures that can be expanded. I do this to try and avoid any misunderstandings. It is impossible to list every little item on a vehicle that may or may not beimportant to a buyer. Thanks.
Also, lease read thepayment section carefully. Iwill not vary off of what isexplained there. Cashiers checks may have hold put on them by my bank. My bank will give me a letter of how long the hold will be. I will forward a copy of the letter to you. The length of hold depends on the bank that it is sent from. Some smaller banks cantake up to 10 business days. The car will not leave here until my banksays the check has cleared. No exceptions. That is why I like wire transfers and cash.
This is a super cool Ford Anglia ex show car, rag car, asser. This is an original build from the late 60's early 70's. It was raced in and around Lawton Oklahoma. It went by " Psychotic Reaction "and ran in "B" Gas class. If anyone out there recognizes this car, lease let me know what you know, nd I will pass it along to thenext owner. It sat on display for around 20years in the Eldorado Hot Rod Cafe in Eldorado KS along withmany other vintage hot rods and race cars. The owner passed away recently and all of the cars were sold off. I will list what I know to be fairly accurate.
Body: Original steel Anglia body that appears to have always been rust free and is very straight. I see no signs of metal repair or replacement. The front end, ear fenders, nd trunk lid, nbsp;are fiberglass. The paint is way over the top cool. Done is what appears to belacquer.Ribbons, spiderwebs, nd clearwith micro metal flake over the whole thing. All of the glass safety glass and is tinted. Door glass rolls up and down.Doors close very good. Top was filled in the old school way. Tiltfront end isdone very well.
Driveline: 350 small block Chevy with a mild cam. 350 Chevy turbo transmission. Early Pontaic / Olds narrowed rear end with positraction and drum brakes. Note: There are no front brakes on this car. Theydid not use them inthere early days. Speedway sells a complete disc brake kit for around $250.00 that should bolt right onto the Chevy front truck spindles. Don't know the gear rear end ratio, ut fromdriving it I'd say it is around 4:11's. Custom built very long tube headers with mufflers. Not too loud. Sounds and runs great. This carstops fine, ut I would put front disc brakes on it for safety reasons. I found an article on the web that stated in ran a fuel injected small block Chevy in it's heyday. Note the vintage World War ll plane fuel filter and vintage electric fuel pump mounted on the frame rail in front of the drivers side front wheel.
Chassis: Appears to be an original Anglia frame with modifications. Very long custom made ladder bars with chrome coil over shocks. Custom made chrome wheelie bars. Frontend is a custom made straight axle with Chevy truck spindles. All 4 wheels have the Chevy 4 3/4" bolt pattern. Single buggy style front spring with shocks. Various parts of the front suspension is chromed also. Vintage rear wheels with new repro Firestonepie crust slicks.Repro spoked front wheels and new tires.
Interior: The interior is super nice and of a high quality material. It has a full headliner and a back seat for very short personsonly. The in thedash speedometer and tach do not work. The column mounted tach works. Theother gauges are good including the gas gauge. Someone added the radio. Not sure how to work it. I am a big guy at 6' tall and around 230 lbs. I fit great in this car and it is very comfortable to drive. Of course the seats are mounted pretty far back.
Note: As is common with many vintage race cars, he title was misplaced many years ago. In 1986, omeoneapplied for a specially constructed vehicle title in Kansas. This application was approved, o it isactually titled as a 1986 carand a special VIN tag was assigned and mounted to the door pillar by the Kansas Department of revenue. All legally done.
This car starts right upand drives out fine. Not overly fast, ut it is overly cool, specially since it is a true survivor from the gasserwar error and not a clone.
Own a real piece of history with this one.
I know I am forgetting something here, o call forquestions and more details.
I have a clear Missouri title that is in my name and it matches the VIN tag.
I will not give out my reserve price. Please do not ask.
NO TRADES, LEASE DO ASK ASK.
You can make a reasonable offer if you wish, ut I will not end the listing once the auction hits thereasonable reserve price.
Now for the business end. I encourage you, r someone you trust or hire, o come by and check out the vehicle in person. I will refund your deposit if the vehicle does not match the abovedescription. The vehicle does not leave here until all funds clear my bank. Bank and cashiers checks can take up to 10 business days. My bank will give me a letter stating the date when the check will clear. I will forward a copy of the letter to you. Bank transfers can take up to 2 days depending on what time of the day it is initiated on your end. Again, y bank will let me know when it clears. Cash is great if picking it up in person.
