1987 Ford F-350 Description

1987 Ford F-350, 4x4, Crew Cab, Long Bed. Cummins conversion done with Autoworld Conversion Kit. Donor truck was a 1991 Dodge D250 that had just over 90k. Now the engine and body both have around 100k. About 10k since conversion.

1st Gen 12 valve with around 290HP, 4 wheel disc brakes, Alcoa rims, 5 speed Getrag with divorced NP205 T-case. Engine is non-intercooled but has a new Water/Meth injection kit to keep it cool when hauling.

I recently purchased this truck, but after driving it I'm realizing I hate shifting. I was going to swap a auto in but would cost me around $7-8k to do it right. So this truck needs to go to someone who is looking for a manual. I am the 3rd owner (since conversion). Original builder pulled a trailer, 2nd owner (only owned it for 1 year) pulled his race car, and I don't pull or do any hauling, just been driving it around town.

This truck is super clean and has had a ton of money thrown at it. Rare to find one this well done with low miles. Runs like a top. Steering is superb, straight as an arrow going 80mph down the freeway. Hard to find a better rig. If you're close to me, come test drive it.

Engine Compartment:

New Head with new Top Hat style valve seals, new 60lb. valve springs and new Bosch 7mm injectors. Valve lash adjusted. New Head gasket and ARP head studs. Gaskets from top to bottom replaced; valve covers, tappet cover, oil pan, timing cover, etc. New Rear Main seal and new front crank seal. Block painted with Cummins Apex Red paint. Piston style lift pump. Resealed VE pump with 366 3200 RPM governor spring and stage 1 Denny T fuel pin with some tuning. New larger style 2nd Gen Harmonic damper.

KDP Killed. Rodney Red radiator hoses. Aluminum freeze plugs. New 2nd Gen style Vacuum pump. BD Pulse Exhaust Manifold. New Holset HE300VG VGT Turbo (2013+ Ram Cummins trucks) with 60mm wheel, stainless steel braided coolant hoses, and stand alone Steed Dolan Banshee II controller with integrated adjustable exhaust brake. Brake is functional. New Cummins OEM water pump. New A/C compressor, lines, o-rings. Blows ice cold. New 4" Diamond Eye exhaust. (Exits before rear tire so a larger fuel tank can be added.) New fan clutch and new fan shroud. New heater core and new heater hoses. Custom fabricated crossover 3" air horn with methanol injection ports.

Snow-Performance MPG kit with EGT controls for further tuning. Dash mounted control unit, and 10 gallon bed tank with secondary solenoid. Two Ford starter solenoids wired to factory grid heaters with 2 gauge cable and push button activation. All wiring is insulated and has split looms, overall very clean. Pre-wired and color coded auxiliary relays available with switches in cab for fog lights, etc. New gauge senders for fluid pressure and temps. Borgeson steering shaft. Firewall is soundproofed.

Transmission:

Getrag 5 speed 2wd. Transcool auxiliary coolers with temp sender probe. Modified Dodge crossmember, New clutch disk. Flywheel bored and new input shaft ball bearing installed. New throwout bearing. Top cover, rear tailhousing and output shaft seal replaced/resealed.

Transfer Case:

NP205 (from a 70's Highboy and newly rebuilt). (3) 1410 yokes. Ford Highboy modified crossmember. (Mounted mid of chassis for equal length drive shafts front & rear.) Custom fabricated support strut. New custom 1410 driveshafts. New gear ratio corrected with speedo drive gear and custom length speedo cable. Disc parking brake on output of t-case.

Front Axle:

Kingpin Dana 60 high pinion. Re-geared (3.54) and re-sealed with OEM Dana R & P. New Spicer U Joints and 1410 yoke. New brake calipers, lines and pads. Front springs re-arched and overhauled w/ new bushings and u-bolts.

Rear Axle:

Sterling 10.25 Re-geared (3.54) New OEM long pinion factory Ford R & P and crush sleeve eliminator. Detroit Tru-Track installed. 1410 yoke. PML extra capacity cooling diff cover with autometer oil temp sender. Ruff Stuff disc brake conversion New custom hard brake lines and stainless braided soft lines. New u-bolts. Alcoa wheels with Toyo m55 tires

Interior:

New headliner. Custom powder coated overhead gauge pod w/ - pyrometer, oil pressure, engine oil temp, water temp, vacuum, trans temp, rear diff temp, turbo boost, fuel pressure and volts. All stock gauges hooked up and working (except volts.) Tachometer kit installed on engine and works great with Ford dash. Newer split bench swapped in with center seat/console. Newly installed Tekonsha Voyager trailer break controller with all new wiring to the back. New stereo with blue tooth/usb, 6x9 Pioneer speakers, 8" sub and amp. Interior is very clean overall.

Body:

Great condition for a 30 year old Original California truck. Repainted once about 10 years ago. All four doors open and close like new. Front Bushwacker fender flares. Ruenel rear bumper.

Issues:

Right turn signal works but doesn't lock into place, it needs to be held. Front main tank gauge only goes down to 1/4. Paint is flaking on top of cab and few small spots throughout. Hood needs a buff or repaint. Tailgate is slightly bowed. E-brake sticks.
