1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Description

This classic is midnight on wheels. A factory blacked-out 1970 Ford Mustang with the Mach 1 package, enhanced stroker V8, and all the right documentation means this muscle machine is just as good at turning heads as it is at stalking prey. This pony was born looking this aggressive, but it takes the right investments in care and maintenance to continue the sinister appearance in the modern age. The factory-correct black paint currently benefits from a clearcoat shine that really showcases the 1970's body curves. Now, take a closer look... that glossy black paintwork is contrasted by the Mach 1's matte black hood stripe, hood scoop, front air dam, rear stripe, and rear spoiler. This double-black appearance is a very cool presentation that instantly gets respect no matter if it's lit by sunlight, or midnight neon. But it isn't just the dark elements that add the aggressive attitude. Hood locks, mirror-like bumpers, complete trim, and a modern take on Mag wheels all add bright intimidation. The forceful attitude continues with an all-black interior. From the door panels, to the seats, to the center console, to the dash, everything in this Mustang looks like midnight. But Ford also was going for a premium attitude during this time, that's why the darkness is broken up by wood paneling on these surfaces, too. This is setup nicely for the driver with a T-bar shifter for your right hand, and the factory-style three-spoke steering wheel for your left one. Beyond that is a nice set of gauges to monitor the essentials, including a tach. And if you look closely, you'll see a few well-placed upgrades. For example, the radio is an AM/FM/cassette stereo with CD changer, and just below that is a set of auxiliary readouts make sure you have a complete picture of what's going on under the hood. You'll love opening the hood on this beast at car shows. The engine bay has the same dark and sinister appearance as the rest of the car, thanks to the painted fenders and large shaker hood scoop. You're looking at a date-correct V8 that started out life as a correct 351 engine, but the upgrades go well-beyond the cool Cobra valve covers. This is now an amazing 393ci stroker motor that inhales deeply through a four-barrel carburetor, and exhales with authority out of long tube headers that feed the rumbling X-pipe dual exhaust. The full package is estimated to produce 500 horsepower, and you better believe it has the growl to back it up. And speaking of backup, this monster V8 has all the right support components, too. The three-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt at the same time as the motor to performe at its best, and it sends the power to a stout Ford 9-inch rear end running 3.00 gears. Plus, the front disc brakes and grip of BF Goodrich T/As make sure you can easily tame this beast. This classic comes complete with the owner's manual, reproduction window sticker, maintenance/restoration receipts, and a Marti Report so you can verify that this mean pony car was born looking this way. It's a full intimidation package that's turnkey ready for this weekend. So are you going to be the hunter of the prey? Call now!
