1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Description

Selling my 1968 Shelby GT500 convertible. I looked long and hard to find one in this condition when I bought it. I hate to see it go, but I just don't drive it ever.
This is one of the best bodies out there. No rot anywhere. The vehicle was in a very minor collision back in the 80s as it was hit on the rear driver side quarter panel. The dent was pulled and the quarter panel was "leaded" in... the good old days! Looks perfect and you cannot tell. This Shelby was originally highland green, but was painted "Shelby red" back in the 90s. Paint still looks very good to this day.
The interior is in remarkable condition. Very nice! The passenger side dash was signed by Carroll back in the late 90s. This vehicle is one of the nicest examples of a Shelby GT500 convertible left in existence. The odometer is correct and this Shelby has just 55k original miles!
Unfortunately, the only things not original to this car are the block and carb. The engine block cracked and was replaced with an era correct block by the previous owner. The previous owner did not retain the original block. The carburetor is also not original, but I have been told it is also era correct. Other than this, this car is a dandy.
As seen by the pics, this car does come with a certified Marti report, which is a nice touch and of course confirms it's authenticity. I do also have some miscellaneous literature that comes with it as well.
By no means am I a Shelby guru. I have loved them since I was a kid, found the right one, and bought it a couple years back. I have barely driven it. I just don't have the time to enjoy this car and I hate to see it just sitting in the garage.
The bad- the car does have a few drips from sitting. I would replace the oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, and transmission gasket. These are normal wear items that would need replacing over time anyway. I just don't have the time to do it. Other than these minor repairs, this car is a true gem. I hope it goes to someone who has enjoyed it as much as I have.
