Would you buy a car on eBay with four pictures and one paragraph of description? NO.
That is why at Classic Cars Online, our listings will go over and show every area of the vehicle that is up for auction.

Body & Paint: The vehicle was repainted about 15 years ago. It looks great and is holding up very well. It is a very solid and straight vehicle. New NOS front fenders were using during the restoration. No patches or body filler. The body panel fit and alignment are near prefect. It has the correct panel gaps on the doors, trunk, and hood. The vehicle is equipped with rear fender skirts that give the vehicle a great look. The factory hardtop is also included with the sale of the vehicle. (Sorry, no photos of the hardtop. It was in storage.) The hardtop still has the original paint on it and will need to be refinished. There is no convertible soft top with the car.
Chrome & Trim: All of the chrome pieces are in very nice condition. No pitting or dulling. The original stock stainless steel trim is in good shape with no dings or scratches.
Interior: The factory red and white interior is nice but not perfect. The dash and instrument panel has been gone over and freshened up. Everything is working correctly with the only exception being the factory clock. (Recently stopped.) All of the gauges and instruments were converted to a 12 volt system. (Instead of the 6 volt system) An updated AM/FM/Cassette radio has been installed with new speakers. The carpet is in very nice condition and is not faded or worn. The dash pad is not cracked and the steering wheel is also in nice condition.
Engine Compartment: Sitting under the hood is a 292cu.in. V 8 engine. Very stock looking with all the correct items such as the chrome air cleaner, Thunderbird valve covers, and radiator. It is equipped with Power Steering and Power Brakes. See the "Mechanical" section below for more information.
Trunk Compartment: The trunk compartment is clean and very solid. Original trunk pans. It is sporting a black trunk mat. The vehicle doesn't have a spare tire or jack.
Chassis - Frame & Undercarriage: The underside is clean but not perfect. Finished in semi-flat black. Remember, this was not a frame off restoration. (It didn't need all that work.) It shows some dirt from being driven and used.
Glass: All of the glass pieces are in nice shape. No cracks, chips or delamination. The windshield does have a few small scratches. The side windows roll up and down without any problems or issues.
Wheels & Tires: The vehicle sits on four newer P205/75R15 radial wide white tires. They are in very good condition. These tires are mounted on the factory rims that are painted red to match the vehicle. Four Ford deluxe spoke wire wheel covers are installed giving this classic a great look. All four hubcaps are in very nice shape without any dings, dents, scratches or other problems.
Mechanical: Engine/Transmission:
All 1955 Thunderbirds came with 292 cu. in. engines. This 292 power plant starts, runs, and idles well. It doesn't burn oil and sounds great. The water pump was replaced along with having the carburetor rebuilt. The "Ford-O-Matic" automatic transmission has been rebuilt. It shifts out very nice and does not slip, jerk, or leak. The vehicle was rewired using a 1956 wiring harness to upgrade to a 12 volt system. The battery was replaced about a year ago.
Brakes:
Power brakes. The brake system has been gone over. Everything that needed replacing was redid. There are no leaks or other problems with brake system. The brakes do not squeal, fade, pull or pulsate.
Suspension:
Power steering. The power steering unit has been rebuilt. The vehicle sits nice with new springs and shocks. It steers and drives very well with no known problems. The alignment is good and drives straight and doesn't pull. The ride is very smooth with the radial tires.
Exhaust:
The dual exhaust system is in good shape with no known leaks or problems. It does have the typical surface rust. It is not stainless or aluminized. It has the correct exhaust manifolds. The exhaust exits through the rear bumper.

Please read all of the terms before bidding. Our goal at Classic Cars Online, LLC. is to broker positive transactions between buyers and owners. We help with listing and presenting vehicles on eBay for the owners. We are not in possession and we have not inspected this vehicle. The owner provides us the information and photos for the eBay auction and has stated the representations are true to the best of his/her knowledge.
We also have a "Risk Free" 7 day inspection period AFTER the auction for the winner bidder.
(See below for details.) 1) The owner provides and is responsible for any and all representations within this auction and not Classic Cars Online, LLC. The owner states that the presentations are honest and accurate to the best of his/her knowledge and assumes all legal responsibilities for the vehicle and representations. 2) At the conclusion of the auction and upon reception of a Five percent (5%) deposit, Classic Cars Online, LLC. will place the winning bidder in touch with the owner to arrange for inspection or transportation. Classic Cars Online will accept the deposit on behalf of the owner. This deposit is due within 3 days of auction closing. The deposit can be paid with a Certified Bank Check. 3) An Inspection of the vehicle is Highly Recommended and must be done within 7 days of auction closing. The remaining balance, is due to the owner at inspection/acceptance. *If inspection is not completed within 7 days, or buyer waves his choice to inspect the vehicle, the deposit is nonrefundable and the deal is finalized. The inspection can be done by the buyer personally or a third party inspector that the buyer hires. 4) Full payment is due within 7 days of auction closing. You are not purchasing a new car that is claimed to be flawless. Instead, you are purchasing a vehicle that is old and expected to have normal wear and tear from age. The vehicle is sold "as is" where is without any warranty implied or expressed. All sales are final once inspected or paid in full. 5) If the vehicle was found to be materially misrepresented at the inspection, your deposit is refundable and you are not liable for the purchase but this must be determined within the allotted seven (7) day inspection period. Regardless of our commitment to describe vehicles in as much detail as possible there will be imperfections. Failing to mention for example an item such as a small paint imperfection, a minor non-safety related item such as a switch etc, does not constitute refusal of the vehicle by the buyer. We require you to put in writing via email or fax the material misrepresentations in order to receive a refund of your deposit. Taking a few photos of the misrepresented area for us to see, will help point out and confirm your concerns. "Changed my Mind" is not a valid excuse for your deposit to be refunded. 6) Bidding on this auction demonstrates your acceptance to indemnify and hold harmless Classic Cars Online, LLC. from any liability resulting from this transaction, including any reasonable attorney fees. 7) PLEASE DO NOT bid unless you have full intentions of purchasing at your bid price. Your bid is a legally binding contract as eBay clearly states. We reserve the right to end the auction early. We also reserve the right to verify any or all bids to ensure excellent auction integrity. Please do not ask the sellers reserve price as we will not disclose this information. 8) WE DO NOT accept bid retractions. If you bid and retract you will be added to our blocked bidder list and future bids will NOT be accepted. eBay allows for you to triple check You're bid before finally entering the bid. Our integrity is impeccable as our feedback shows and we demand the same from our bidders. 9) Bidder/Buyer is responsible for all the shipping costs, insurance, title work, and must be 18 years of age or older. Remember, whether you are buying a car/truck from eBay, Hemmings or Collector Car Trader, you will inevitably want to go and inspect the vehicle. Our system is better than most as you can actually see several photos of the vehicle and enjoy a much more lengthy description, and then have a chance to inspect the vehicle after the auction. ss
