1966 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Description
1966 Galaxie 500 XLCar has a 1966 428 V8 from an original 7 Litre car that was wrecked. The interior and Motor/Transmission were saved and used in this car. This car was originally a 390 Automatic.
Motor is fully redone with Edelbrock intake, cam and carburetor. Runs 100%.Car is from the south and has zero rust on it. It is an original car, and the original interior is out of the 7 Litre car as well. Paint is a 7 or 8 out of 10, and is very shiny and nice. Interior is in great condition. I have brand new OEM style seat upholstery that will go with the car from Dearborn Classics, as well as a brand new Molded rug to be installed as well.
Has a set of Brand new Aluminum wheels and new radial tires. Can hop in and drive anywhere. Cruises at 70mph at 2000 rpm. Has a high gear rear end so that the motor isn't always revving.
The car does have the original 4 wheel drum brakes from the 390 Car and everything is in good operating order. Car stops straight and nicely. I have the original brake booster from the 7 Litre to go along with the sale, just not installed yet.
Gets tons of looks and attention at local car shows. A very good driver and collector as you don't see many of these around.
Currently licensed and insured in NJ, and has a free and Clear title. No stories with the car. It is driven on the regular on nice days and garaged all other times.
Only selling due to circumstances that require extra money with my family.
Won't be dissappointed in the car, as equipped its a very rare car.
If this were a true numbers matching car it would be worth in the 30s. This car is all period correct, and the motor is a 66 7 Litre motor from an actual 7 Litre car.
Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early. If you have any questions or are local and would like to see the car, feel free to contact me and I'll pass along my phone number.
