Drivetrain: Big Block (460) with Dove heads, new Flame Thrower coil and distributor, new wires, new plugs, new Edelbrock Thunder Series 650 carb, custom headers with dual exhaust (sounds like an old-school truck). C6 that shifts smooth (both up and down). New 19 Gal gas tank, and new electric fuel pump. I’m unsure of mileage on drivetrain (original owner had Alzheimer’s (seriously)), but this is a low-mileage 71k box-A truck that runs great with a good deal of power.
Steering/suspension: Front end gone through thoroughly and if worn, was replaced – lot’s of new parts (springs, shocks, steering shaft, drag link, bearings, Garrison Control Valve). Goes down the street straight for a 73 4x4 big truck with very little play in wheel. New rear shocks.
Brakes: All new drums, shoes, cylinders, hardware, soft lines, fluid, new front bearings done at same time.
Wheels/Tires: Refurbished stock wheels – straight and balanced. New Super swamper 31x9.5 R15s. I opted for a tire close to stock, but wanted Radial – they track pretty well down the road with not as much noise as you’d think, and they advertise to perform well off road (I have only taken mildly off road to test 4x4). All front and rear wheel studs replaced when doing brakes.
Interior: I think it is the stock seat and carpet – both in surprising shape for a 44 year old. I freshened up dash and steering wheel, as AZ sun for 44 years does/did cause some havoc! New RetroSound radio with AM/FM, presets and an audio cable in glove box for your device. Factory A/C – I was told just needs charged, but I never checked, so I can’t tell you for sure if that’s true, but it is all there.
Exterior: RUST FREE! Resprayed stock color at some time, but the paint was either done at home or a not-so-hot shop - I call it a 10 footer. I get compliments all the time, and it can be used as a truck without worry. When respray done a spray-in bedliner was done.
One owner until I bought it 6 months ago – hadn’t been on the road since 2000, see pic of the plate I took off of it. I also had owner pull duplicate title, and I kept original from 1976 when truck was paid off and sent to owner. Overall a very nice driver. I did the work to get road-worthy – you can start, drive, steer and stop as the truck did in 1973 – and listen to Pandora from your phone while doing it! Keep in mind this is a 44 year old truck and there are still small things that will need done (for example oil pressure gage, temp gage, and odometer seems to not turn as it should) if you choose. I have had people stop and offer to buy, but I wanted to get road-worthy prior to thinking about selling. There are no serious issues with this truck – but as you likely know (if you’re looking at trucks this age), I cannot guarantee. As for my selling – I bought to help out the owner (with health issues), with the intent of tinkering (hobby) and getting road worthy with hopes of makin a couple dollars. My reserve is my break-even, but I think it’s worth the buy-it-now price. For someone on east coast – you’d be amazed at the underside of this truck – there is not even a pinhole in sight!

Item located in Tempe/Scottsdale area in 85281. We had an old address in there when I posted the truck. Also, may be obvious, but the truck was bought in AZ and has remained in AZ all its life.
