SURVIVOR, ORIGINAL DRIVELINE, PAINT AND INTERIOR, stock, not modified, not restored.
SEE THE CAR AT THE TULSA, MID-AMERICA SHELBY MEET THIS WEEK AND WEEKEND. IT WILL BE AT THE THURSDAY CRUISETO THE BRADY ARTS DISTRICT AND ENTERED IN THE SUNDAY CAR SHOW AT THE MARRIOT HOTEL.
This car has spent its entire life in Osage County, OK. The original family owned it 46 years. The second owner stored it four years until I purchased the car two years ago.
The original motor has never been removed or rebuilt. 73,000 original miles. The car has all original sheet metal and paint. ORIGINAL PAINT. ORIGINAL INTERIOR. ORIGINAL MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION.
You just don't find these cars in this condition every day, certainly not a 289, C-code,Wimbledon white fastback!
The car starts, drives and stops just fine. The brakes are manual drums with the original single reservoir master cylinder. The steering is manual. The car has Air Conditioning, but it is NOT hooked up and probably needs a new or rebuilt compressor. The gear shift is a bit loose and sometimes you have to push the selector forward when starting the car, but otherwise it works as it should.
The original radiator works but has been swapped out with a Champion aluminum radiator, both stay with the car. With the aluminum radiator, the car does not overheat at all, ever.
The carpet is in good shape for its age and doesn't have any worn-through spots or major stains. The drivers' seat seam (on one side) is no longer stitched, but the vinyl is not torn or ripped.
The headliner isin excellent condition and appears to be original.
The dash has not been cut up, the original AM radio works and appears to be the original. The glove box door and ashtray work properly. The door panels are in good shape for their age.
All lights work. The windshield wipers work. There are no rear seat belts, but 3 pairs of 1964/1965 date code belts (black) go with the car.
The glass is all Ford glass and appears to be original, there are no cracks or scratches. The glass trim is in good shape. The door felts appear to be original and show their age in cracks and shrinkage. The windows crank up and down as they should.
The dash and steering wheel are flawless. It is obvious this car spent its life in a garage. The dash pad is not warped, cracked or otherwise dried out. The steering wheel has ZERO cracks and had an OLD SCHOOL wrap that protected it from the sun and elements for decades.
The fold-down back seat works and locks like it should. The trunk trap door works like it should and has never been cut up with speaker holes.
The trunk is in good shape, one of the drain plug holes has minor rust around it, but no place else, nothing significant.
During the past two years, I've had the brakes redone and all original parts that came off the car are boxed up and go with the car. The rear axle lube has been replaced. The transmission seals have been replaced but the transmission (ORIGINAL C4) has not been rebuilt. It does not leak.
The original carb (with metal tag) has been rebuilt and runs like a champ. The points were replaced with Pertronix electronic ignition and the points are bagged up and stay with the car.
The tires are so new the whitewalls still have blue dye on them. The spare tire appears to be original, at least the date codes on the tire are correct from that era and the tread is full. Also, there is a second spare, also on a ford wheel, but a new modern tire (2 spares, one old, one new).
The original trunk mat goes with the car but is so old it is cracked and broken up in pieces. It's in a large plastic bag until the Sunday car show.
The engine bay has original build marking or paint markings under the hood, the number 354, that match a similar marking on the radiator core support on the driver's side.
The car had undercoating early on, probably when new and it saved the floor. The only rust is surface rust, check out the pictures of the frame rails and floors. Again, this has been an Oklahoma car its entire life and garaged all those decades.
The original owners manual goes with the car.
This car is a time capsule. There are LOTS OF DOOR DINGSAND DENTSalong both sides of the car. I've touched up some of them with Ford white touch-up paint. The driver's door has a crease that's about 6" long, and I believe it can be tapped out from inside the door panel.
The car is a DRIVER, not a show car, and it has all the road wear you'd expect from a 52 year old car with 73,000 (+) miles.
One of the photos depicts all the extra Mustang parts that go with the car, including many parts that are not original to this car---I'm clearing out my stock of parts, including: an extra windshield, 2 wheels (5ME) and (3MH) date codes, 3 x 1964.5 headlight buckets (with the beveled edge), 3 x 1965-66 headlight buckets, a stack of 14" hubcaps, valve covers, 2 radios, original fuel pump from this car, timing chain cover, 3-speed manual shifter, new blue steering wheel and center piece, NOS steering wheel cover in original NOS box, new 3-point seat belts (blue), instrument panel, new in box muffler (single exhaust), 2 NOS Ivy Green door arm rests, tail light frames, door speaker covers, maybe another part or two I forgot to mention...
ALSO, a New In Box, power brake booster package goes with the car.
The asking price is $25,000. I'm not interested in any trades, scams, Nigerian lottery rebates, and I don't need help listing the car. Its a CASH sale, I will not accept personal checks, 3rd party checks, and I cannot hold the car while you secure funds. It's my intent to sell the car during the MID-AMERICA SHELBY event, and conduct a transaction at an area bank with a money counter.
The title is a CLEAR Oklahoma title and is in hand. All the receipts I have go with the car.
If you have questions, please send them through Ebay and I will answer the legit questions as soon as possible. I will make the car available for inspection at MID-AMERICA, (as I already did Wednesday evening). My cell phone number can be found on the FOR SALE sign on the car at MID-AMERICA.
I cannot assist with shipping and if youask about overseas shipping, the answer is NO.
I will end the auction early if the car sells before seven (7) days and it will also be listed in Craigslist if I can get the pictures loaded.
Thanks for looking.
THURSDAY,JUNE 15, 2017:
Today, I've dropped the reserve price so the next bid meets the reserve.
Also, please note the new close-up of the door dings, they are noticeable up close, but again, this is NOT a show car.
There is now a picture of the original owner's manual. On the outside, the owner wrote notes about the points and spark plugs. On the inside, and on a receipt is the following writing:
"Bought new car Nov 9, 1965" and "new battery Sep 23, 1967."
On the receipt is written, "changed oil & filter, mileage 60,920 on April 19, 1979" and on the same receipt, "1997 oil change, 70,048."
SINCE 1979, THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN 13,000 miles, with 3,000 of those miles since 1997. The car had 70,000 + miles when I bought it in July 2015, so I've personally put the last 3,000 miles on the car. The car is sorted out as best as possible and I am confident you could drive it home, including to destinations in other states. The Air Conditioning isn't functional, so take a cold beverage in this Oklahoma heat.
CASH TALKS.Today (Thursday) Iwill sell the car for a cash transaction of $24,000. Tomorrow, (Friday) I will drop the cash price to $23,000. Saturday, the cash price will be $22,000. Sunday, the cash price will be $21,000. The Ebay auction runs for seven (7) days.
Thanks for looking.
