This early bronco has never rusted out like 95% of early broncos. Even the floors and rocker panels are original. Not a single rust hole was on the original tailgate. No hack up repairs or cuts have been made on this body. The metal is very solid. Most of these early broncos have been patched up quite a bit by now. I crawled under it and did not see any of the typical rot out holes where they all seem to get them. Nice solid hinge posts and doors shut nicely. Windows roll up and down easily.
Believed to be Numbers Matching
uncut quarter panels.
Brand new 2 stage urethane paint on exterior, interior of doors, dash,
Inside of tailgate, underside of hood. Body looks really nice! Great looking shiny clearcoat with nice gloss. Painted in the original shade of red that it came with when new, code J.
Grill was repainted white, along with the front and rear bumpers and headlight rings. Body was detrimmed, fully sanded, prepped, primed complete, block sanded, and sprayed with a sealer. The windshield glass and rubber seal were removed for paint. The basecoat clearcoat dupont finish was applied in a temperature controlled spray booth.
New windshield and new rubber seal installed after paint.
The rare Kelly Mfg steel hardtop has been repainted in white. These tops are hard to find and really neat in that you can unbolt the sides from the roof panel, disassemble them, and store the parts in a space saving way.
Interior is new
Factory bucket seats rebuilt with new white upholstery, foam, and webbing. The rear seat was also reupholstered in white and received new black paint on the steel frame. Visors have new upholstery. Interior door panels were repainted in white, as original. Dash pad has been reupholstered in black. Uncut dash, and still has the original chrome radio in place. Glove box door was removed and painted separately.
Lenses are new, new chrome outer mirror.
Carburetor was just rebuilt by a carburetor shop in Los Angeles. New fuel filter. Fresh oil and filter change.
Odometer reads 3,687. Speedometer works, temp gauge works, fuel gauge works. Headlights work, horn works. Choke is hooked up and works. Heater blower fan works.
Has the factory original 170 cu in 6 cylinder engine with factory original oil bath air cleaner. Every time I've run it, the engine has fired right up, engine has run strong, and the clutch felt good with nice pull.New brake master cylinder. New battery cable, new starter solenoid.
This is a really exceptional bronco and is priced very fair, given what Nada guides lists as value. In great shape, not perfect but super super cool. Drove it around today and couldn't stop grinning :D
Lots of compliments, every time I drive it.
50 years young and ready for its new life!
