1954 Ford F-100

Pickup

Private sale of a truly remarkable find. An outstanding '54 Ford F-100 with only 49,601 documented miles original and an interesting HOTROD history.

This truck was customized sometime in the early '60's. It wasn't wildly modified but, just enough to set it apart. It has items such as a Burgundy paint job, custom tail lights, and a frenched-in antenna on the back of the cab. Apparently, it was really something, and it actually toured to several different automotive events and shows. Then it disappeared for a while. Years later, it was found in a greenhouse, where tomato plants were being raised. After that, it became the centrepiece at a tire store in the showroom. It spent 15 or more years there. All-in-all, this truck spent the great majority of it's life as a custom show truck, in storage, or as a display vehicle once again.

The body is in such amazing condition, especially considering the age of the paint; approximately (+/-) 55-60 years old. The old chrome reverse wheels are from the original customization. This truck is a real time-machine.

Mechanically, the truck runs and drives excellent. It was fully rebuilt, and has very few miles. The engine purrs like a kitten, and only like an old flathead can.

I'm not sure how often a vintage truck of this era comes up with under 50,000 miles documented. I think the hotrod history and provenance really set this thing apart. I do not even know what to ask for it. I haven't ever had it appraised.

So I guess as I've said before... that brings us here. I'll let you decide what it's worth. We are letting this car go with NO RESERVE. Please understand, that’s a big decision. Only thing I ask is that you, as the buyer, please be considerate of our request for a simple and easy transaction. With that said, I will consider offers from confirmed bidders.

I will be upfront and straightforward with my description.

To avoid any misrepresentation or confusion, I will describe the paint and overall condition on this truck as a general 1/10. Please understand, it was painted a very very long time ago. There is signage of obvious attempts to keep it in good shape (a LOT of wax in the crevices, etc.) but, it is old. In fact, very old. There are chips and small imperfections, as most people would expect. Most reasonable people will understand but, there's always that guythat, despite all logic and description, expects this was kept in a museum. I think most car-guys will have realistic expectations. I don't hold any punches with the driving condition though... This engine runs SO FANTASTIC. I can't even believe how easily it fires up, and how smooth it purrs. Even if we continue to never use it, it's so difficult to sell something that starts and runs this nicely. I'm sure a fuel system cleaning will ensure some reliability for somebody that wants to drive it some distance but, as it sits, I've loved taking it for short jaunts.

Anyways... I think that probably sums everything up. We're moving, cleaning up, thinning down, and, well..... 60's-70's cars are more my thing. Some lucky car-guy that loves these vintage pickups will really score.

SHIPPING/DELIVERY:

I’d say that, in our experience, most (maybe 75%) American destinations fall between the 15-hundred to 2-thousand dollar range. To play safe, please budget for at least that amount. We are running an unreserved auction so, the savings should help offset any shipping/delivery costs. Please also note that, as mentioned, my wife has become pretty adept at making all the arrangements so you get your car as quickly as can be.

Titling and/or registrationEverything is perfectly transferrable and will be signed over and taken care of for you immediately following the sale. It is free to travel without restriction and titling is universal. The only extra cost is a $120-150 customs brokerage fee. My wife has everything ready to go for the car, and will only need your information filled in, once the sale is completed, to finalize the ownership.

I’m happy to answer any inquiries, so feel free to write. I welcome and encourage anyone’s questions. We welcome 3rd party inspections, and encourage them. As well, we invite anyone wishing to see in person and will happily accommodate. If you’d like to speak over the phone, please let me know and we’ll arrange a call. Only thing I won't do is crawl around and take underneath pictures. It's terribly difficult for me to get down and up, I'm not a dealer or somebody with access to a hoist, and I'd prefer just to let my reputation speak for itself.

Good communication is pivotal to a happy transaction.

Procedure is very important and we have a perfect little system that has proven very simple and effective in making everyone happy. It goes as follows: Immediately following the sale, I will ask for your buyer’s information. My wife will fill in all the paperwork and title transfer. That will be scanned and sent to you. Once received, you validate the information as correct and confirm. Then, my wife sends the banking transfer information. After payment is received, she arranges transportation/delivery. Simple as that.

Check our feedback.

IT IS YOUR BEST RESOURCE.

Each and every one is for a 30-60 year old car or truck.

You’ll see that nobody is just “happy”.

Everyone is OVERJOYED.

Good luck fellow enthusiasts and happy bidding!!
