1965 Ford Galaxie Country Squire Description

Selling my 1965 Ford Galaxie Country Squire 10 passenger station wagon. This rare beauty was originally a 390 4bbl with Cruise o matic auto. The original engine started knocking and the previous owner had a reman 390 put in. The car was originally a California car and was restored back in the late 80's. The cars woodgrain, paint and interior were all restored and it was warehouse kept till I got it. The pictures should back up just how nice this car is.
I tried to keep it as original as possible but since I bought it to drive it now has many upgrades such as Master Power front disk brakes with booster and master cylinder, fast ratio steering box, modern power steering pump conversion, new springs and shocks, Hotchkis front and rear sway bars and 17x8 American Racing Magnum VN500 replica wheels with 245/40-17 Kumho tires all around. Factory 9 inch rear with 3:20 gears and trac lok in back. It has factory A/C retrofited to 134a that works great. Five original style Scott Drake seatbelts are in the front and rear seats.
The engine sports chrome valve covers, open air cleaner and Edelbrock Performer intake and 600cfm electric choke carb as well as a pertronix ignition and coil. New reproduction exhaust recently installed as well. I have some of the original parts(4bbl intake, air cleaner, valve covers, swaybar and ps pump) if wanted.
The interior is exceptional, the seats, carpet, door panels and headliner all look new even though they are over 30 years old. I installed vintage style aux gauges and a tach under the dash(the original sending units are included) I haven't hooked up the amp guage yet. The dash is probably due for a cap since is starting to develop some cracks.
It looks beautiful and gets attention everywhere it goes. Everything works on it and the electric rear window works great as does the rear gate. It is 90% rust free and the floors, frame and underneath in general look amazing for its age. There are some defects though, there is some rust bubbles starting to appear on the drivers rear quarter and the spare well has a hole in it. The hood doesn't quite match the car it's barely noticeable but it's there and the car is really starting to need the window track felts and door weatherstrips replaced as they are finally starting to crack. The tailgate window will need some sweeps made as they aren't reproduced right now. The inner and outer window sweeps have already been replaced on the doors. The bumpers were an 80's chrome job and they look good but are developing some defects around the bumper bolts. I may be missing some things so expect a few flaws it is a 50 year old car with a 30 year old paint job and I drive it any chance I get.
I'm really going to miss this thing but I lost my storage and can't bear to see this car in my driveway with a car cover on it. To keep it nice it deserves a better home than I can give it. I don't need any trades as I have too much stuff already. Go find another one this nice, or better yet try to find another one in general. It is available for sale locally with a $18,000 asking price, which I think is very fair for this car. If it doesn't get $16k it won't leave, it is only being listed 1 time so if it doesn't leave I won't be relisting it. Period. I can't afford to pay feebay over $100 to advertise this more than once, so if you have any interest you should bid. If it doesn't sell my kids will be happy to not see it go. Deposit of $2,000 due within 48hrs of auction end, full payment due within 7 days and the car must be picked up within 30 days.
