1947 Ford cabover classic COE truck cab over engine ton car hauler flat bed
1947 Ford Other Pickups Description
Up for auction is my 1947 Ford COE. I bought it from the original owners son. His father bought it new in Oklahoma City and it was delivered to American MFG in OKC for installation of flat-bed. Has some rust but very solid overall and the frame is beautiful and straight and has never been cut on. Wheelbase is around 158" and flat-bed is 16ft long. 15000 GVW. I was told that truck was was running and driving when parked in 1981 with 84k miles. Key still in the ignition. Currently not running but the the engine turns over by hand and oil still full on dipstick. I feel confident that it will run with new points and some work. The transmission shifts in all gears and clutch works. The throttle pedal is still functional and still has the glass fuel bowl. I never replaced the old battery or tried starting it. You will see that the drivers door is open a little in the pictures. I left it open for pictures because it will not open from the outside. The outside door handle just spins. It will open from the inside of the cab with vise grips and shuts fine also. The passenger door opens from the outside but the inside spindle is broken. The windows do roll up and down but have to use vise grips on passenger one. I have the handles. The truck rolls and steers and goes into gear. this is a great restoration candidate for someone to finish. Clear title in my name and license plate is current. See all pictures. Please email me with any questions. This great looking cab over is still very original and quite an attention getter!! Thanks and good luck.

See pics. The double hood latch handles and springs do work. I need to clarify something about the passenger door window crank and door handle. In the original description, I stated that the passenger door handle spindle broke. It is not broke. It is the passenger door window crank that broke off about a half inch. I use vise grips on it to roll window up and down. I have the handle for rolling up the passenger window and it is fine. The passenger door opens fine from the inside and out. The drivers door will not open outside but will open from the inside with vise grips. This spindle is fine. It just needs a new chrome handle put back on with the small pin. I have the old handle but it is broke at the end.
