1919 Ford Model T Touring Car
1919 Ford Model T Description
I need a spot for a different car.I don't know that there is anything wrong with this car apart from some woodwork done in the front floor area by the previous owner, in Michigan, but he did an excellent job.I had a new top installed and while the bows were stripped bare I had my upholstery guy soak the bows with Kwik Poly before they were wrapped again. There was nothing wrong with them but as long as they were bare why not.1919 was the first year for electric start but this car has a 1923 engine in it which is not uncommon as the '19 and '23 engines are the same.I can tell by the way the engine runs it has aluminum pistons so has been bored over size.I can confidently state that because my '27 Tudor runs exactly the same way with .040" over aluminum pistons.I replaced the generator cutout with a solid state cutout/regulator.It has 4 of the NEW KW plastic coils, the GOOD ones, and I replaced the spark plugs that were in the engine with NOS Champion 25 spark plugs. The radiator had been replaced a modern radiator so overheating is not a problem. The tire treads are like new but there is a little cracking in the sidewalls.....also not uncommon.I don't believe I've had a need to air up the tires for something like two years and haven't needed to air them this year either.I added directional and brake lights for safety.Over the last few years I've driven this car around the area on a lot of nice, long, country rides with friends. There isn't much more to say about a Model T.I can store the car for a reasonable period of time.
