1969 Ford Fairlane / Torino - 351W Formal Roof Description
This car brings a smile to my face every time I get behind the wheel. It's shiny, torquey, and noisy. This flashy car GOES!If you want to stand out from the typical muscle-car crowd, this 1969 Fairlane is the answer. With a strong-running 351 cubic inch V8, it's the Blue Oval's answer to the ubiquitous Chevelles, Chargers, and GTOs. Better still, it's a bargain compared to its rivals and quite a bit rarer to boot!
Garage kept for the last 25 years with no rust anywhere. Incredibly solid and ready for a new owner.I get approached all the time about this car. I can’t be in it for longer than 5 minutes without someone giving me a thumbs up or rolling down their window to yell, “Nice car!”
Handsome and restrained compared to its fastback siblings, this Fairlane hardtop adds a bit of formality to the performance game.Beautiful custom metallic blue paint that shines from a mile away. (Original color was white, but car was taken down to bear metal and repainted.) Sitting on a matching set of 14" period correct Cragars.
Under the hood is a 351 Windsor (period correct, but not original to the car) bored .030 over with less than 10,000 miles since rebuild. The car was just tuned up a couple months ago, so it starts easily and runs beautifully, with smooth torque that only vintage V8s seem to deliver. The 3-speed transmission (moved off the column to the floor) shifts perfectly and the beefy 9-inch rear offers great highway cruising.
Included, but not installed, are a slew of new and original parts:
- Original buckets seats
- Uncut lower dash
- Brand New Grant 3 Spoke Wood steering wheel with attachment kit
- Brand New Retrosound digital Bluetooth enabled radio with Sirius XM receiver included
- Immaculate dash clock
- Spare dash pad with no cracks
- Spare uncut lower dash
- Chrome trunk trim
- New side reflectors for rear quarter panels
- Spare taillights with housing and chrome trim
- New chrome rear view mirror
A few small issues - the currently installed radio and cigarette lighter do not work, nor does the fuel gauge. Some minor paint scrapes and some cracking. All easy fixes that I simply have not had the time or budget for.
Car could use a refresh to turn it into a show car (included parts will get you more than halfway there), but it's beautiful just the way it sits. This is just a fun, affordable Ford that delivers in all the ways that matter!
