1930 Hot Rod
Growing up as a child of the 60's I was no different than any other all American boy. What was my passion? Cars and the California lifestyle. Like most boys of my age I would gather with all of my friends and show off our collection of Hot Wheel cars. As the days and years went by my passion for cars and the dreams of the American Graffiti days gone by, I set my sights on recreating them. As the financial fate of my life changed I found myself in a position to start collecting cars I had only dreamed in my past. At the time of me writing this I've been able to collect 59 classic and exotic automobiles including race cars. Each and every one of these are street, track and show worthy. As age starts to set in I feel it is time to slowly start liquidating some of my collection and love. The car that I am selling was a dream car and one of a major hunt. I first spotted this car in numerous publications, photoshoots and behind the velvet rope at car shows. I set my goal at acquiring this car. After several years and employing the help of a known car finder I was put in touch with the owner of this car. To my surprise he was a world famous athlete who after retiring from his career went to work for Mattel. He worked at Mattel as a designer and engineer for creating the Hot Wheel Cars. If you've ever wanted something so bad you will know this moment. I bought this car at the peak of its bubble when they were selling for a $150,000.00. As time pasted I got more than that in enjoyment of owning this vehicle. The car is a 1930 5 windowed coupe chopped and channeled. It is an all steel car and real car not an inexpensive reproduction. The car is deep black with custom flames that give it that sexy, tough Hot Wheel look. The interior is a custom leather and suede that has been manipulated to look like nothing ever seen in a car like this before. The exterior of the car, the interior of the car, motor compartment of the car and underneath the car are car show quality. The car has a custom gasser stance with some low slung open pipes. Not only does the car look amazing but it is a beautiful driver and has logged state to state drives for shows. A lot of thought was given when a powertrain was selected for the car. To make the car super reliable and drivable, a fuel injected small block Chevy engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission was installed for those freeway drives. The air conditioning system, heater, power windows and dash components were all sourced from General Motors. The car has a 9-inch Ford rear end with 4 link and coil overs, front and real disc brakes.
