1951 Ford Other Pickups Mercury M3 Description

1951 Mercury M3 Pickup Truck. Rare Mercury pickup. All original unrestored one owner truck. You could likely drive this truck home, it runs and drives good. Can assist in arranging shipping to anywhere. Selling with No Reserve to the highest bidder.
The elderly fella that we acquired this truck from had owned it since new. He said that it has only left the farm around 10 times in its life. He told us about the history of the truck. He bought it new in a town named Morris in Manitoba, Canada. The odometer stopped working in 1955 and shows 3,999 miles so the true mileage is unknown but he said that he doubts it has done much more than 60,000 miles. The speedometer still works though as do all of the other gauges. The day it was bought new the cab corner and rear fender were beat in to mount the spare tire on the side as you can't have the spare tire in the bed when hauling grain. Imagine doing that to a new F Series today! The tailgate was removed and thrown in the barn and replaced with a piece of board and a hoist was fitted. Due to this the very rare Mercury tailgate is in excellent shape and I put it back onto the truck. There is a small drill bit sized hole in the hood close to the windshield where a gauge was once mounted for spraying crops. This truck was solely used for hauling grain around the farm and left the farm approximately 10 times during the 1960's/70's to haul hogs into the city of Winnipeg.
The hoist still operates perfectly and you will find a video of this if you scroll down. There is some rust in this truck in the usual areas that these 48-52 Ford/Mercury trucks rust but all easily repaired if that's the route you would want to take with it. The floorboards and cab corners are very solid though with no rust through. The rust is confined to the fenders, bed sides and above the rear window. The frame is in excellent condition. The original Mercury tailgate is in excellent condition as are all of the Mercury specific emblems, trim and hub caps. This is a true survivor truck. The motor has never been apart, but it starts and runs great, shifts good, the brakes work good. I wouldn't be tooconcerned about setting off on a trip in this truck.
Due to the much smaller Canadian market, Ford of Canada only sold approximately one tenth as many trucks as Ford did in the US and around two thirds of those were Ford's leaving the remaining third to be Mercury's. So very few of these trucks where produced and it is becoming much harder for us to source nice original and complete examples such as this. Due to Canada's harsh climate only a handful remain today.

who we are and what we do

We are two brothersthat seek out original trucks and cars fromall acrossCanadaspecializing in vehicles from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

We started heading North to source these vehicles several years ago due to the severe lack of such vehicles in the US in recent times due to our huge car culture. Most American barn finds have long been found and tampered with by several owners yet North of the border there still seems to be an abundance of good solid original vehicles waiting to be brought back to life.

We make these great vehicles available to the US market by importing them into the US and providing all required paperwork to acquire a Clear US Title in your own name in your home State.

We also specialize insourcing Mercuryand Fargo trucks and have successfully imported and found new homes for dozens of fine original examples.

We are passionate about finding the best thatthere is and understand that ourcustomerswantto see automobiles that have not been tampered with; the moreoriginal, the better.

Our inventory is regularly updated, as new finds are unearthed. If there is something specificthatyou are looking for, then let us know and we'd be happy to see if we can help.

The business we conduct is straightforward and honest. Whether you're looking for something that'sall original, a starting point for a restoration project orsolid bones for a custom build, Bison Brothers will deliver.
