1962 Ford F-100 Unibody
1962 Ford F-100 custom Description
Rare '62 Ford F-100 Unibody longbed. Straight body with no rust-through. Only minor surface rust. See photos, and I have more upon request showing what I mean by minor surface rust.
Engine is a 302 unmolested block, crank, rods and pistons. Heads are 289 and have been rebuilt, surfaced and updated. I built this engine myself and it now has roughly 8000 miles on it, so it all works! Edlebrock Performer 289 intake. 4-bbl. carb. This engine starts up every time, even in freezing temps. I run alcohol free fuel, but it will run just fine on regular pump gas.
Trans is a toploader 3-speed. No granny low, so you actually use all the gears. Rear end is 2:73. The truck hits 65mph at about 2100k on the tach. Barely breaking a sweat. Drive-line is new.
Some mild custom touches - '64 Plymouth grille. Custom tail lights. Two sizes front and rear rubber. A little pinstriping on the hood and tailgate. More pictures is seriously interested. Custom shifter rod, and knob.
Interior need finishing. Roof, firewall, and floor insulated. New full-floor rubber. New gas tank and sender. Seat is good but I was going to replace it with a different seat out of a '72 Ford PU. I have the custom cut headliner. Both seat and headliner need upholstery. And that's about all that's needed to finish the inside.
Ready for your color exterior paint.
Truck needs some suspension work and wheel bearings. I have lots of extra parts - original grill, leaf springs, seat, etc. that will be included.
It runs great. Drive it while you finish it. It gets lots of attention. I've got three other projects going and I don't have space to keep this one.
