1925 Ford Model T - Scratch Built Speedster - Description

1925 Ford Model T

Scratch built Speedster
Outstanding workmanship
Fully sorted and road proven

Here up for bids is this very well constructed 1925 Ford Model T Speedster. This car was restored with a hand-built body in 1977 and has travelled minimal miles since. Utilizing a stock Model T frame and drivetrain, this car has been converted to 12V, incorporates a Sherman high compression head, Warford auxilliary transmission, and has Rocky Mountain brakes. The car has remained in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. It carries a clean WA State title and is titled as a 1925 Ford.

The body was built up from a wooden buck, with fiberglass then hand laid and painted on top. The paint was well applied and still shows very well 40 years later with no stress cracks or spidering.

The fenders and hood are steel.

Very nice fit and finish throughout, a real testament to the skill of the builder.

The hand crank is operable but the car has electric start.

The speedometer gear drive shown in the first photo below may need to be adapted, as the speedo reads high.

Hayes wire wheels are wrapped in 4.5×21″ Riversides tires, all in good shape.
Custom made split-tonneau cover with perfect fit.

Bespoke interior with leather seat, all handmade.

Temp gauge is not operable, but I have taken a infrared reading of the upper radiator hose and it came back at 165.
To the right of the stock pedals is an auxilliary accelerator pedal that the builder installed. The stock throttle lever on the steering wheel still functions, as well as the spark advance.

The car starts on the button and runs strong!

Custom made 4 into 1 header.

Carter downdraft carb with manual choke.

Nice attention to detail throughout the car.
