351 Windsor V-8 engine, automatic transmission, power steering, brakes, windowsLocation: Chicagoland Area
Take a look at this well maintained, restored 1960 Ford Thunderbird convertible which sports "Jet Age" styling with it's sharp angles, wraparound chrome bumpers, and intricate details like the rocket-shaped body moldings. You'll enjoy this second-generation T-Bird, affectionately called a "Squarebird" which is luxuriously equipped with factory installed automatic transmission, power steering and brakes. You'll welcome how easy you can command the sporty instrument panel, set in a shiny cockpit-style dash, where you can control your power windows and power convertible rooftop, all from the comfort of your self-adjusting power driver seat.
This is an excellent Sunday cruiser restored with a rebuilt 351 Windsor V-8 engine with unleaded gas conversion and topped with a four-barrel carburetor. The convertible top is new without spots, and it's hydraulic convertible pump has been recently replaced along with limiter switches properly installed and set. Pull one lever, trunk unlocks, opens itself up, top retracts and folds all into the trunk, it closes and locks itself, all from the comfort of the drivers seat. All electrical systems and wiring are fully functional and operate correctly.
Along with the original radio installed in the dash, a top of the line Alpine CD player was professionally installed which includes a remote control so you can easily play your 50s and 60s tunes while cruising around the neighborhood. Additional panels have not been modified, nor have any additional speakers been added. The car shines with her Corinthian White enamel that was painted at the time of restoration, and the tan interior sports original leather seats which are neither torn nor scratched.
In the future, the upper shifting column bushing is due to be replaced, and it is recommended the new owner replace the tires which are older, but have no defects or sidewall cracking. Prior to acquiring vehicle, a full tune-up, oil change and brake fluid replacement will be done by the owner. This is a solid T'bird cruiser, and like classic vintage cars will require a minimum of fettling, routine maintenance and proper storage practices to ensure more years of preservation and your driving enjoyment. As a wonderful 50+ year old beauty, this is older technology and it's not the same as a "new" car experience, but that's the great fun of driving, tinkering and playing with such a rare collectible!

When creating the listing we didn't know the exact mileage for the vehicle, 70,000 was put in as a filler. Once the first bid comes in neither I or Ebay can update it. The current mileage is 76,927.
