1931 Ford Model A Bedford Cord (Tan) Description
Up for auction is my 1931 Ford Model A. It is a five window coupe with a rumble seat. The engine is a standard 201 cid four cylinder bored 60 thousandths over. It is rated at 40 H.P. The color is Elkpoint green over Keewanee green with Ebony aprons and fenders sporting an Apple Green pin stripe and wheels. The interior is a full Le Baron Bonney Bradford Cord with a mohair headliner. It has a three speed manual transmission and the final drive ratio is 3:77 to 1. The entire vehicle was disassembled bodyoff and restored including the complete powertrain. Hydraulic (1939-1948) brakes were added during the restoration. The work was done by Dave Kitchen of Daves Model A repair in Riverside California. The car has only been driven 630 miles since the restoration. The car has never seen rain since it was restored. See undercarriage photos. The cost was $32,000 and full reciepts will be supplied to the buyer. In addition I have spent $2800 in the last few months, adding a 60 amp alternator, new battery, new seat belts with retractors and new FSI distributor and coil, car cover, manuals, etc. The FSI ignition system eliminates the need to manually adjust the spark advance, as it has a full centifical advance and a new stainless shaft joining it to the oil pump. In addition I added a new set of oil pressure and water temperature gauges. Plus I replaced the amp gauge that was rated for 20 amps and put in a new 30 amp gauge to better watch the alternator output. The car starts, runs, steers, ride, drives, and stops better than it did new, considering these improvements. ( All parts replaced will be included with the sale, in the event you are a purest and prefer all the 86 year old originality. The generator and distributor were completely rebuilt) This vehicle will easily win trophys, but I must sell now and my show season doesn't start in Florida till fall. The vehicle is located in Fort Myers Florida. I highly recommend you or your agent inspect the vehicle before bidding. It is advertised locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction if it gets sold apart from Ebay. Please see my feedback as a seller which includes the sale of several vehicles. I fully realize the vehicle will not bring close to what it took to restore it, but my loss is your gain.The pictures speak a thousand words, so I'll let them do the talking. The paint is exceptional and way beyond what it ever was new. It is painted with acrylic enamel and shows like glass. There are a few minor touch ups but they will not show in any photos as they are tiny. While it is not in the photos, the sale will include a box filled with an extra quart of Keewanee green and a quart of black paint, several repair manuals, an owners manual, plus spare parts for the carb, bulbs, fuses and tools that fit the model A from when the fuel gauge and the carb was rebuilt. I will also include a small amount of Apple green paint. The new car cover is made to fit this car. It is a cotton dust cover strictly for indoor storage.If you've read this far you must be interested, so go to the following site to see 135 additional close up detail photos;

The car is nothing short of spectacular in its presentation. People cannot believe it is 86 years old. Please do not ask my reserve and I am not interested in any trades at all. I will assist buyers shipper at buyers expense. I highly recommend an enclosed truck if you want to see it in this condition. If you have questions you may call me (Charles Dorst) on my cell. 405-532-0659. Thanks for viewing my auction.
