1957 Ford Other Description

1957 Ford Country Sedan 4-Door 6-Passenger Wagon, 292 Y-block V-8, AT, Std Steering

This southwest vehicle has body and *frame matching numbers (C7DXxxxxxx – 292 2bbl, 1957, Dullar Plant, 6-Pass Wagon … photo documentation of two locations on frame). Body is refinished with the correct colors (CE – Dresden Blue and Colonial White), as well as the correct 3rd interior dark blue.

This vehicle is my personal vehicle, not a customer project of my 42 year restoration business. It was completely disassembled, rotisserie media blasted, refinished “piece by piece” and reassembled. It was built with meticulous attention to every pinchweld, “nook, crook and cranny” to withstand exposure to weather. Also has new glass, interior and weatherstripping, fresh chrome on bumpers and guards. All lights and gauges work. Radio does not work.

Built to be “bullet-proof”, the chassis, steering, suspension, engine, transmission, rear differential, fuel system, cooling system, wiper mechanism were completely rebuilt, including a few commonly overlooked items as new steering worm gear, radiator, heater core and vacuum control valve, etc. No expense spared.

With daily use performance and drivability in mind, the following improvements were made:

Original 2bbl intake manifold #ECG-9425-H replaced with 1957 Thunderbird spread bore 4bbl intake #ECZ-9425-B (Correct for 1957 292 and 312) with new Holley #0-1848-1 4bbl carb with automatic choke and vacuum secondaries. It also has stainless steel dual exhaust. (Original intake and reman 2bbl carb goes with vehicle if not sold before on ebay).

Original 4-wheel drum brakes replaced with 4-wheel power disc brakes (11” rotors, dual piston Kelsey-Hayes calipers) maintaining original front spindles and original 14” wheels (drum brake assemblies with new cylinders, shoes and hardware go with vehicle).

Original dual-point distributor replaced with MSD electronic ignition distributor (dual-point distributor goes with vehicle … it’s usable as is, but I’d rebuild).

This car has approximately 1015 miles since build and drives “showroom smooth”. Most would call it “restored”, I call it “built my way” … You’ll call it “impressive”.
