1986 MUSTANG GT. 5.0 V8, 5 SPEED MANUAL. LAST YEAR FOR THE "4 EYE STYLE FRONT END" AND FIRST YEAR FOR FUEL INJECTION. CAR HAS ORIGINAL MOTOR AS VERIFIED BY VIN STAMP ON ENGINE BLOCK. DESIRABLE COLOR COMBINATION OF JALAPENO RED WITH GRAY INTERIOR. RUNS EXCELLENT, CAR IS VERY SOLID ON THE ROAD, HANDLES GREAT, VERY GOOD POWER AND TORQUE, ACCELERATES EFFORTLESSLY. SMOOTH AS GLASS ON THE HIGHWAY AS WELL. CAR IS VERY PLEASING TO DRIVE AND THE ACCELERATION IS STRONG WITH NO HESITATIONS. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS BETTER THAN ANY OF THE OTHER 4 FOX BODY MUSTANGS I HAVE OWNED. NO GRINDING WHATSOEVER AND SHIFTS VERY SMOOTHLY. I WOULD NOT THINK TWICE TO DRIVE THIS CAR ANYWHERE.
FOX BODY MUSTANGS ARE ON THE RISE IN TERMS OF COLLECTOR CAR STATUS. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE A GREAT CRUISING CAR THAT ATTRACTS ATTENTION WHEREVER IT GOES. COLLECTOR CAR INSURANCE ONLY COST ME 90 DOLLARS PER YEAR. HAS WON 2 TROPHYS AT 2 DIFFERENT CAR SHOWS. I AM ONLY SELLING IT BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT A 1993 NOTCHBACK STANG AND THAT IS MY NEXT PROJECT. IF I HAD ROOM I'D KEEP THEM BOTH. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESTORATION AND REPAIRS ON THIS CAR IN THE TIME I HAVE OWNED IT. I HAVE AN EXTREME ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND ENJOYED WORKING ON THIS CAR.
MILEAGE READS 42,743 AND MAY GO UP A LITTLE IF I GET THE URGE TO DRIVE IT DURING THE SELLING PERIOD. I AM NOT SURE IF THE MILEAGE IS ACTUAL OR IF THE ODOMETER HAS ROLLED OVER. THIS IS A 5 DIGIT ODOMETER SO I AM JUST GOING BY HOW WELL THE ENGINE RUNS AND HOW NICE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS.
FIRST LET'S GET THE KNOWN NOT SO GREAT AREAS POINTED OUT. THERE IS SOME RUST AROUND THE LOWER EDGES OF THE SHEETMETAL AS SEEN IN PHOTOS. WHAT RUST WAS THERE WAS TREATED WITH POR 15 RUST TREATMENT AND PAINTED OVER WITH TOUCH UP PAINT. REALLY DON'T EVEN NOTICE IT UNLESS YOU ARE FOCUSING ON IT. SHOCK TOWERS HAVE SOME RUST BUT NOT AS BAD AS OTHERS I HAVE SEEN. WHAT RUST WAS THERE WAS ALSO TREATED WITH POR 15. CAR IS STILL STRUCTURALLY SOUND AND THIS CAN PROBABLY BE LEFT ALONE FOR A LONG TIME WITHOUT ISSUE. IF CONCERNED THERE ARE REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE SHOCK TOWERS (SEE PHOTOS FOR SHOCK TOWER AREA CONDITION.) THE EDGES OF THE FRONT FLOOR PANS HAVE SMALL RUST HOLES. AGAIN I TREATED WITH RUST NEUTRALIZER AND PUT SOME PIECES OF THIN SHEETMETAL OVER THE AREAS AND THEN PROCEEDED TO PAINT THE WHOLE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR USING EASTWOOD'S RUST ENCAPSULATOR PAINT. IT LOOKS REAL NICE FROM UNDERNEATH. FLOORS ARE STILL STRONG AND AGAIN THIS CAR CAN BE DRIVEN WITHOUT CONCERN. I DID THE PAINTING UNDER THE CAR 2 YEARS AGO WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND ANY RUST WAS HALTED IN ITS TRACKS (I ALWAYS KEPT IT IN THE GARAGE SO THAT HELPED.) TORQUE BOXES ARE IN GOOD TO VERY GOOD CONDITION. TRUNK FLOOR IS SOLID AS WELL. PAINT JOB IS VERY NICE BUT NOT PERFECT, HAS A COUPLE SCUFFS HERE AND THERE AND ONLY A COUPLE OF SMALL DINGS IN THE BODY. HOOD DECAL IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND LOOKS GREAT. AMBER CIBIE FOGLIGHTS ARE NEW AND IN WORKING CONDITION. I HAVE REPLACED DOOR WEATHERSTRIPS AND TRUNK WEATHERSTRIP AS WELL AS OTHER MOLDINGS HERE AND THERE. CAR PRESENTS VERY WELL AND ALWAYS GETS COMPLIMENTS.THE OTHER THING IS SOMEONE REMOVED THE UNDERHOOD AIR CONDITIONING PARTS. NEVER BOTHERED ME ENOUGH TO FIX SO IT IS WHAT IT IS. JUST PUT THE TOP DOWN AND ENJOY THE FRESH AIR. ALSO, MOST EMISSION CONTROLS HAVE BEEN REMOVED (NO SMOG PUMP, NO EGR). CAR DOES HAVE CATALYTIC CONVERTORS (HIGH FLOW BASSANI BRAND X PIPE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE). I INSTALLED THAT SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO SMELL THE EXHAUST EVERY TIME I DROVE IT. NOW TO THE REALLY GOOD STUFF
16" PONY ALLOY WHEELS (ACTUAL FORD NOT REPRO) IN NEAR MINT CONDITION, MOUNTED ON 245/50/ZR16 BFGOODRICH G FORCE TIRES.TIRES HAVE 2,000 MILES ON THEM.
BRAKES WORK FINE, REARS ARE NEW 3,000 MILES AGO. FRONTS ARE STILL GOOD.SUSPENSION IS IN GOOD SHAPE.ENGINE RUNS VERY STRONG WITH NO UNUSUAL NOISES.CLUTCH WORKS GREAT WITH A REAL NICE PEDAL FEEL.
INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE, HAS NEW DASH PAD (NOT A COVER UP, CHANGED THE ACTUAL PAD), DOOR PANELS ARE NEAR PERFECT AND THE CARPET IS IN GOOD SHAPE. SEATS ARE IN GOOD TO EXCELLENT CONDITION, HAS TILT WHEEL, CRUISE CONTROL (WORKS), CENTER CONSOLE ARMREST WITH CUPHOLDER. THERE IS A NICE RADIO WITH SINGLE CD PLAYER AND USB INPUT ON THE FRONT. UPGRADED DASH SPEAKERS AND REAR SPEAKERS AS WELL. I INSTALLED A KICKER UNDER SEAT POWERED SUBWOOFER UNDER THE DRIVER FRONT SEAT FOR SOME NICE PUNCHY BASS. (THERE IS A CONTROLLER FOR THE SUB NEXT TO THE FOG LIGHT SWITCH.POWER WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS ALL WORK FINE. POWER TOP WORKS GREAT AS WELL AND INCLUDES A STORAGE BOOT FOR WHEN THE TOP IS IN THE DOWN POSITION. HAS LED LIGHT BULBS IN THE REAR BULBS AND THE FRONT TURN SIGNALS AND PARKING LIGHTS ARE ALSO LED.
POWER TOP WORKS GREAT AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH NO DAMAGE. LOOKS LIKE A RECENT REPLACEMENT AND IS IN UPGRADED CLOTH MATERIAL AND HAS A GLASS REAR WINDOW.

NEW PARKING BRAKE CABLES, REAR BRAKE SHOES AND HARDWARE, 3.73 (8.8 INCH) REAR END WITH REBUILT TRACTION LOK LIMITED SLIP, NEW REAR WHEEL BEARINGS AND AXLE SEALS AS WELL AS UPPER CONTROL ARM MOUNTING BUSHINGS. UPGRADED STRONGER AXLESHAFTS. NEW CENTER REAR BRAKE HOSE AND AXLE HOUSING METAL BRAKE LINES AS WELL AS NEW WHEEL CYLINDERS.
RAM STAGE 1 CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WITH NEW FLYWHEEL AND REAR MAIN SEAL. NEW THROWOUT BEARING RETAINER AND PILOT BEARING.NEW CLUTCH FORK. NEW TRANSMISSION MOUNT AND CROSSMEMBER BUSHINGS. SHORT THROW SHIFTER. MAXIMUM MOTORSPORTS CLUTCH QUADRANT KIT, CLUTCH CABLE AND FIREWALL ADJUSTER. (EXCELLENT PEDAL FEEL)

CAR HAS NO FLUID LEAKS.
HAS NICE COLD AIR INTAKE SETUP.
HAVE RECEIPTS FOR MOST ALL OF THE WORK I HAVE DONE TO IT.
