1940 Ford Deluxe Description

Wanted to give Ebay a shot. A convertible has my attention so the Tudor needs a new home. You are looking at an all steel 40 ford with the exception of fiberglass rear fenders. No rust. She’s a driver and I’d take it anywhere. I’m the owner, not a dealer. Strong 350 LT1 vette motor, tuned port injection, mates to turbo 350 trans. Proven combo. Starts and runs great, ultra smooth shift, no surprises here. No clunks, shimmys, or shakes. Plenty of power. Stops on a dime, 4 wheel disc brakes. Steers super smooth, mustang power rack and pinion. Tilt column. Rides comfy on mustang ii front suspension with airlift bags. Ford 9” rear end (Lincoln Versailles) and TCI engineering rear suspension. As you can tell, the running gear was well thought out. It’s a great driveline and it sounds amazing with the flow masters. Brand new Coker wheels and bfg radial whitewalls. Newer 15 gallon gas tank. It runs nice and cool, heavy duty radiator with auxiliary fan. On our hottest days I’ve never gone over 205, it’s usually at 185-195 as it should be. Dakota digital gauges will keep you updated. Ppg Audi silver is in great shape. firewall completely clean, engine bay painted Lamborghini purple. Costco battery in trunk.
It has air conditioning that could probably use a recharge. I live in coastal southern ca, functioning cowl vent and power windows are my choice. 6 way adjustable front bucket seats, custom rear sea, vanity lights, brand new carpet, near perfect headliner, fresh stereo with Bluetooth, amp and sub, it sounds awesome. Seat belts for 4. The interior was next project on my list, but it’s very functional and quite comfortable for you and your friends. I dig it and I’m keeping the cost down. Glass is in great shape, scratch in drivers window but I don’t notice it. It’s tinted all around and it looks real sharp. Trunk and rear fender shaved as you can see. Trunk on an electric lift. Inside the trunk you will also see the fuel fill. Keeps the fender nice and smooth. Wipers work. I disconnected power antenna but it’s there if you want. Works fine. Electric wipers work well. Tiny ding on passenger door, no one notices it but me. It’s from window regulator at install. I use the running boards, that’s what they are there for. The rubber on the boards is in great shape but it’s a bit wavy in the normal spots. The panels line up nicely. I’ve included photos. All of the weather stripping and rubber seals are in great shape. There are tiny flaws in the paint finish at a couple door hinges but nothing that needs any sort of attention and cannot be seen unless you are looking for it. I painted the wheels with vht paint and clear coat, they are not perfect but you can’t tell unless you are a foot away. The baby moon caps and beauty rings are all brand new. Lots of extra parts including some glass and the waterfall hood assembly.
Overall she is a great ride. Very dependable and cruises the left lane on the freeway. So many thumbs up. She has great road manners and can run with the best of em. It’s a show winner and I have trophy’s to prove it. I’ve done my best to describe it. It’s 77 years old so don’t expect it to drive like a brand new Lexus. It’s not a kindig build and I’m not looking for rediculous money for it. You couldn’t build this car for less than $70k today, not to mention the time it would take. This is a turn key vehicle that I drive often. Needs nothing mechanically. My wife drives it sometimes, some of my cars she would prefer not to drive. Point is, it’s a solid dependable car and I’ve done my best to describe it. I encourage inspection in person. I do not want someone to buy it and then come back to me because they found a tiny flaw. I reserve the right to end auction early.
Car is sold as is, where is. No warranty expressed or implied. I’m happy to answer any questions. I can help with shipping. No funny biz. I won’t let car go until I have the money. Happy to meet in person, I prefer it, but I can assist your shipper. I’m near the beach in San Clemente. $500 deposit due at auction close and full payment within 3 days.
