Offered For Sale by The California Automobile Museum 1936 Ford Phaeton Deluxe We Offer Financing Purchased from the original owner in 1949, this car has been meticulously maintained by the same family for 68 years, including a major restoration in 1993. The car was awarded 3rd in Class at the Palo Alto Concours (2012) and it was a finalist from more than 4000 entries in New York Times Classic Car Contest (2010). Exterior: The car is in excellent condition. Repainted around 1985, the 32 year old paint shows only minor checking on right rear fender and light bubbling on two doors and fenders. There are no dings or dents on the car. The top is as new. The LeBaron Bonney curtains are included, however, the clear windows have cracked due to storage and a number of snaps need repositioning. Running lights are not working. Motor and Running Gear: 85 hp, 221 ci. L-head V-8 engine equipped with a 3-speed manual sliding gear transmission. Car received an extensive restoration in 1993 including motor and transmission rebuild, 12 volt wiring, sealed beam headlamps and hydraulic brakes. Interior: Reupholstered in the 90’s. No rips, wear or tears in the upholstery. Presents as new. “Penelope” spent most of her life in Connecticut, never driven in the winter.
