1966 Ford Mustang 289 4BBL V8 CUSTOM SHELBY STYLED 4 SPD FB! Description
Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.
West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional and beautiful example of this wonderfully and with no expense spared whatsoever customized 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback which received a full restoration and customization by its previous owner and is finished in a brand new striking two stage 'Deep Sky Blue' color over a Black bucket seat interior with black carpeting.
The car was originally born on 5/27/1966 and built in Dearborn, MI with a 289 2 barrel V8 engine which has been upgraded to a 4 barrel and a very desirable upgraded 4 speed manual transmission from its original C4 automatic, its original factory 'Nightmist Blue Metallic' color paint has been changed to this striking 'Deep Sky Blue' color matched to a Black bucket seat interior and the car now has a 9" rear end with 3.08 gears, a 6 point roll bar, Shelby 350GT style fiberglass rear seat delete with a spare wheel on the fiberglass shelf, Shelby style tail lights and side scoops, dual sports mirrors, custom painted sports stripe with hood scoop and a detailed undercarriage on a rust free body.
This particular car must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated - a seriously striking example which turns heads wherever she goes! The engine is extremely strong and responsive with excellent oil pressure and no noticeable oil leaks and which sounds absolutely magnificent, the 4 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the engine temperature always remains cool.
This must be one of the nicest completely rust free and beautifully and tastefully restored examples of an early Mustang Fastback available anywhere, a professionally customized example, primarily with speed in mind with highly desirable options including a 4 speed manual transmission and a 289 4 barrel V8 engine and with a rear seats delete Shelby style fiberglass insert (resulting in at least a 60lbs lighter car), in turn-key ready daily driving, daily head-turning, and daily appreciating condition!
