1937 Ford Cabriolet Description

The good news is that none of the uber-rare original 1937 Ford cabriolets were harmed to build this awesome hot rod. The bad news is, well, actually, there is no bad news because this car is awesome! Chevy power, cold A/C, and a sleek art-deco look make this the cruiser to own if you want to stand out in a crowded field. That gorgeous metallic red paint has the right combination of metallic to make it simply glow in the sunlight like it's radioactive. The look is clearly 1937 Ford in all its aerodynamic stylized glory, from the swept-back grille and teardrop headlights to the tapered rear end with frenched LED taillights similar to those found on a '39 Ford. It's fiberglass, which has been expertly prepped and smoothed to give it a show-car look without the need to resort to gimmicks like flames or scallops, instead letting the shape speak for itself. The door handles and most of the bright trim were omitted from the build, but it does have a pair of shiny chrome bumpers that make it look suitably 1930s, as well as fully functional running boards with rubber inserts to protect the paint. It remains in fantastic condition despite being a few years old, and the look will probably never go out of style, so you can enjoy this rod for years to come. The brilliant white leather interior is a great place to spend some time, and with the cabriolet body style, you get a full-sized rear seat, so you can bring all your friends. The professionally-stitched upholstery looks great on the low-back bucket seats, and the matching door panels are ornate without being too flashy. Contrasting burgundy carpets tie it all together and help keep the dirt under control, and we especially like the contrast of the white leather boots on the shifter and E-brake. A tilt steering column and white leather billet steering wheel are the right choice, and there's a matching billet panel full of big, round VDO gauges to watch the engine's vitals. A/C is neatly integrated into the lower dash, but there's a minimum of clutter to keep it looking tidy. Power windows are a nice addition to any convertible and there's a rigid lift-off hardtop that does a pretty good impersonation of a folding cloth top. And for road trips, this car offers a fairly large, fully upholstered trunk with access panels for the vitals.Power comes from a Chevrolet Vortec 350 cubic inch V8 that's built for reliability and performance. Tucked way down in the Ford's pointy engine bay, there wasn't much point in dressing it up, although chrome valve covers and a matching Edelbrock air cleaner certainly don't hurt. An HEI style ignition system helps with the reliability part and an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold handle the performance. A big radiator means this car keeps its cool no matter what and with power steering, power brakes, and a stout TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, anyone can drive this car every day. There's a rumbling Flowmaster dual exhaust system, so it sounds like a proper hot rod, and the independent front suspension and disc brakes are nice additions for safety. In back, there's a Ford 9-inch rear end along with a fabricated gas tank. 15-inch Weld Pro-Star wheels are a fantastic hot rod look and carry staggered 205/70/15 front and 235/75/15 rear Michelin radials.Nicely built, handsome to look at, and a delight to drive, this '37 Ford gets everything right.
