1965 Ford Mustang Prostreet Description

This 1965 Mustang Pro Street represents a perfect fit for the motoring enthusiast who is serious about extreme performance on both track and boulevard alike. Featuring a great look and equipped without compromise, this is an unabashed screamer that's equally at home leaving a trail of molten rubber behind it or simply cruising past an admiring crowd.
While this is a car definitely built for serious performance, a lot of attention has gone into aesthetics as well. The white exterior, complemented by a pair of wide black racing stripes that run from front to back, is in great shape benefitting from a well-applied clearcoat, it sports an even shine. Up front, a hood scoop with refined, rounded contours gives a hint of the mayhem-producing potential that lies underneath, and the black grille devoid of the customary running pony emblem gives the car a decidedly menacing look. Even at a standstill, the quality of this build is evident. Both bumpers are looking clean and straight, all body panels are well aligned and the glass throughout is crystal clear. Take a look in back, where a pair of massive tires have been carefully fitted with just the right amount of offset underneath the fenders so that there's no excess rubber jutting out underneath to be skinned off when encountering potholes or uneven roads. Just as you would expect in a performance-centric ride like this, it sits low and level to the ground . . . all the better to extract maximum performance from its quality components.
The interior provides further evidence that looks do matter. The black and white bucket seats up front are an effective reimagining of their original counterparts, closely mirroring the look of the original design, but modified with a two-tone color scheme and showing very little wear. More creativity went into the insides of the doors and the dash area. Both remain in near-stock configuration, but have a noticeably upgraded look the steel surrounding the door panels, as well as the dash itself have been carefully prepped and painted gloss black, and the customary dash pad up top has been omitted entirely to create a very effective, industrial look. Look through the Grant GT steering wheel at the instrument cluster and you'll see it remains stock as well, but its gauges still glance back at you through very clear, readable lenses. Look a little closer and you'll see the floor shifter has been moved a bit to the left from its customary position on the tunnel, bringing it within easier reach for the driver. As befits a ride like this, built for track and street alike, a very sturdy roll cage has been installed for an added measure of safety.
Sitting between the signature Mustang shock towers underneath the hood is a 346 cubic inch V8, carrying a pair of Victor Jr. aluminum heads and a 4 barrel carb for inspired performance. It's in fine form, firing right up, emitting a great sound through a set of headers and bolted to a 4-speed manual transmission. As another added measure of safety during more challenging driving conditions, a high quality fuel cell replaces the original gas tank in back. A 4-link suspension sits in place of the customary leaf springs in back, offering a great measure of adjustability and far better performance while cornering. This very well-equipped Pro Streeter sits on a set of 15" Weld Racing rims with 165's up front and massive Mickey Thompson Sportsmans in the back.
