1950 Ford Other Custom Description

Good morning,

The car is black

I have done 12 volt conversion as well as converted the electrical system from positive ground to negative ground

It has an electric carter fuel pump with a separate on/off toggle switch under the dash.

All the work i have completed on the car has been done over the last winter and has about 1000 miles on it.

The motor was bored to make room for the SCAT stroker kit i bought. the original displacement was 239 cu in now it is 286 cu in. I had the engine machining done by Mark McKinsey of Warrior Engines in Red Lion PA. He also installed the cam bearings and line honed them, trued the head surface and turned the flywheel. I assembled the engine and painted it. I also replaced all parts in the engine with new parts during assembly. For a cam i went with a Schneider racing cam, stainless steel valves and heavier performance valve springs. the cam broke in perfectly with no issues. The heads are edelbrock 74cc aluminum heads. the intake is an offenhauser dual regular with two new genuine stromberg 97s. the alternator you see is a generic gm 10si one wire alternator. On the exhaust side i have a set of reds headers (very popular in the flathead world) mated to a custom true dual exhaust with 18 inch magnaflow glasspacks out the back. sounds great. The transmission is a rebuilt three speed on the column with overdrive. ( however the overdrive unit is not hooked up yet, needs a relay, kickdown switch and lockout cable. about $150 worth of parts) i also have the original non overdrive three speed that goes with the car. the clutch, pressure plate and thowout bearing are all new as well as the front universal joint and slip yoke. The steering box has been rebuilt and all the linkage is new. front springs and shocks have been replaced. The heater control valve was rebuilt and the blower motor was replaced. heater functions great. all new belts and hoses as well as a new 3 row aluminum radiator and themostats. this motor never overheats even sitting on traffic when its 95 degrees out.the wiring harness in the car was original when i got the car and falling apart. i put a new rebel wire wiring harness in the car to replace everything it now has a modern fuse block. the only thing i didnt replace was the wires going to the interior lights because i think the head liner would have to come down to do it. the head liner is in nice shape so i didnt want to mess with that. so the interior lights aren't hooked up. as for the interior it was replaced by previous owner about three years ago and looks nice. there was no radio with the car when i got it but is a place for one. i was going to get a vintage sound one if i keep the car. the speedometer works, as well as the fuel gauge. the temp gauge and oil pressure do not so i have separate gauges for those under the dash. The brakes are all new original. the hard lines are new along with the master cylinder, all four wheel cylinders, brake shoes, soft lines and i had the drums turned. I also repacked the front wheel bearings. The ignition is new. it has a bubbas ignition (also very popular with flatheads) with a pertronix I electronic ignition and a flame thrower coil. the timing set has also been upgraded from the factory fiber type cam timing gear to the much more dependable and much stronger aluminum timing gear. the crank timing gear is also a new steel gear. The fuel system is also new including a new tank sending unit and lines to carbs. the floors and truck are in good shape except for two issues. the first is a small hole a little smaller than a dime on the front driver side. i scraped back to clean metal and thats all the farther it went and i put rust converter on it. the second issue is a hole the same size in the truck near the passenger side back and i did the same thing. other than that its solid no soft spots anywhere. hopefully your still reading at this point. the paint is good it shines with a few scratches probably could stand to be buffed to really look good.
