1957 Ford Ranchero standard model 66A project
1957 Ford Ranchero standard model no side trim Description
This auction is for a 66a standard model Ranchero that is as original as they get. The body has rust in the usual spots; headlight area, bottom of the front fenders, rockers, floors (full set required), rear quarters and all the way to the tailgate (which is very rough) as well as the valance and rail that secures the tailgate hinges. The 223ci 6 cyl is included but seized and will need full rebuild, the transmission (3speed) and drive shaft are NOT included. The truck comes with its original 4 solid steel wheels(hard to find). The dash pieces (glove box, heater and air controls) are included, just out of the dash at this time. The front windshield is good, but rear and side glass needs to be replaced. Grill is missing, yet both bumpers with all brackets and front gravel shield are included. Brakes all apart and require replacements. The frame looks good and body very straight.
The sale includes a new set of rocker panels, both 'above headlight' panels (fender bucket will be required), headlights/buckets, all bed painted trim (remember this is a 66a) and also the rear section to replace the valance and tail gate mounting rail that is bad. I cut off this hard to find item from a decent station wagon and dragged it back from southern Indiana (some experience). I have the gas tank which looks clean inside but the top will require some repair work.
Closing: this truck is no doubt a project that will take a lot of work but if you've got the talent, you can really make a nice truck out of it, using the drive train of your choice etc. So, call Steve at 201-314-1249, ask questions, come see it, it rolls nice with 4 usable tires with tubes. These first year Rancheros are near extinct in this part of the world in case you haven't noticed. And, have you checked lately, the cost of transporting a vehicle from out west.....
