This truck waspurchased new and ownedby a gentleman in London, Kentucky. Always well maintained and cared for. In 1991 he had the truck repainted in its original factory colors of Dark Jade Green and Whimbleton White. During his ownership he put just over 80,700 miles. That's around 2,000 miles per year.
When he passed away, the family had no use for the truck and a family friend purchased it from them to help, in September of this year. This gentleman only put about 50 miles on the truck, making runs to local stores in the3 months that he's owned it. The truck currently has 80,795 original miles on it.
With exception of the repaint, the truck is all original and unmolested. No rust on this truck. All body panels are straight. The original owner skimmed the rear right side pulling out of his garage but this did not cause any dents. There is a slight bruiseon the rear trim around the side marker but this is hardly noticeable unless you are looking at it closely.
The original 351 Modified V8 engine starts right up every time and idles fine. The transmission shifts smoothly through all three gears and the passing gear kicks right in when you hit the gas pedal on the highway. Brakes are good and the truck stops straight. The truck steers straight and tight however, there is a slight play in the column itself. 4 new 235/75/15 tires recently installed on the original wheels with hubcaps with under 50 miles. The spare underneath in the rear looks to be the original. It is a Firestone steel belted tire.
The original interior does show some age but is very clean and complete. There is one crack in the center of the dash pad and seams on the driver side of the bench seat have split. Overall not bad for being original. Door panels, headliner and carpet are in good condition.
All of the lights and gauges are working. One of the amberfog light bulbs is burnt. The AM/FM stereo works well. The factory AC blows nice and cold. The wipers, horn, cigarette lighter and even the seat belt buzzer are all working too.
All of the glass is in great condition. Crystal clear with no chips or cracks. The plastic latch to the rear sliding glass has broken off.
The floor in the bed is also in very good condition and is not banged up at all. Cosmetically, the truck does have normal signs of use. A few nicks and scratches but nothing that stands out.
This truck is ready to be enjoyed no matter what it's new owner has in store for it.
