Wonderful Opportunity to own a
Very Unique 1965 CLASSIC FORD MUSTANG
from
MUSTANG BEGINNINGS
The original owner of this 1965 Mustang put a lot of time and money into creating this very unique future dragster out of a 1965 coupe. We traded him a paint job on his other Mustang for this car.
As you can see, the body panels on the car are in pretty good shape, but the rear of the car has been completely modified with the addition of a steel frame and a shortened 9” rear end. He also added coil-over shocks, and a tubular trailing link suspension. You may want to have your racing advisor take a look at how the work was done. The suspension alone cost over $1,000 not to mention at least another $1,000 for the huge rims and dragster tires.
He was going to put a supercharged 351 Windsor or Cleveland in the engine bay, and a reinforced transmission to carry the load. If you need a Cleveland engine, we have them for $1,000 ready to rebuild, but no engine is included with the car. With some more Go Fast accessories, this car would leave tire marks all the way down the street.
If you want a dragster and/or street legal GoFast project where a lot of the hard work has been done, this would be the perfect starting point.
As you can see above, just the suspension, other parts, and wheels are worth well over $3,000.
BODY:
Please see the pictures showing the car from the rear and from underneath.
The floors will need a bit of work, but it is a California car so there isn’t any problem with the front frame There is some rust along the edge of the hood, and along the edge of the roof, but easily fixable.
DRIVE TRAIN:
A 351 Windsor or Cleveland engine would fit nicely between the shock towers. and will provide super fast power to this really unioque Coupe. A more Go Fast parts and this Mustang’s engine bay would deliver all the “under hood envy” anyone could ask for.
INTERIOR:
The interior will need to be restored, but the racing seats do come with the car. Obviously if you are going to use the car as a dragster, a harness and a lot of other safety features will need to be added.
GREAT PACKAGE:
We estimate that in a fully restored condition, this Mustang would easily be worth a minimum of $15,000.
If you add a few of your own ideas, when you are finished, you will truly have a unique classic Mustang.
The car comes with a valid California title, but is not currently registered.
