1937 Ford Pickup was professionally built and finished in May 2016 after four attentive years.The truck has won a GoodGuys Builders Choice Award in its debut at the 2016 Nashville Nationals. Accolades continued and it won a StreetRodder Top 100 Award for 2017 at the Cruising the Coast Event in October, 2016, making it eligible for the Triple Crown of StreetRodding held in Pigeon Forge in September 2017. New Orleans World of Wheels winner; Best in Show Pickup, Best Motor. Numerous local award.
The truck features a Carolina Machine Engines built 383/420 HP SBC motor with aluminum heads, Holley 780 4-barrel, mild street cam, and a GM 4L60 performance transmission from Gearstar Performance. Shifting is performed by a Compushift II electronic controller. 373 gears are housed in the Ford 8” rear end. Electric fuel pump by Aeromotive supplies the fuel.
Air Ride suspension by Ridetech is on all four corners with their premium master kit including self-leveling potentiometers on all wheels. Power brakes are by Wilwood disc brakes and are on all four corners. Tires by Toyo and rims are Boyd Codington Junkyard Dogs.
There are subtle changes throughout and several one off items. It has a 1935-36 grill shell & custom grill by Alumicraft, a 2 ½’ chop, custom metal fabricated air cleaner and bucket seats - waterfall surround. Curly maple bed wood with stainless hidden fastener strips. All custom made stainless exhaust with electric cutouts. A beautiful 40 Ford dash compliments the award winning interior with modified original gauges that acclimates the full leather interior and German weave wool carpeting. All gaps are perfect on this truck as well as the slick and mirror finish of the PPG Black Basecoat/clear coat paint. Laser etched horn button resides on the one off steering wheel by Con2r. (power steering) Custom throttle and brake pedals are by Telsa Machine Works. Custom shifter, shifter, knob, and boot bezel are one of kind.
Air brushed valve covers are a work of art. Gold leaf is added to the Ford script on the tailgate and the character matches the shifter knob. Stereo components for IPod are by Polk Audio, Kenwood, and Pioneer. Wiring is by Ron Francis. Power windows are accessed easily and for the warmer days or colder days you have Vintage Air to utilize both AC & heat options. Aluminum radiator is provided PRC.
