1979 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT - Camper Special EditionOriginal 460 Engine - Automatic Transmission3/4 Ton 8 Lug Axles - Heavy Duty SuspensionWorking Dual Fuel Tanks
This is a dependable truck, ready to tow, haul, pull, work or play.
Starts, runs, drives, shifts, steers, stops good.
Daily Driver. Not a Show Truck - but a straight good looking Work Horse of a Truck!
Minimal rust. Original owners had a travel camper in the bed. The camper brackets were removed leaving the holes from the bolts in the bed floor. A couple of the holes have rusted around the edges. That being said, the bed floor is solid and has a very nice Pendaliner.
The rest of the truck has NO rust. The floor pans, cab corners, rockers, wheel wells, fenders, rear quarters, hood, tailgate, etc. are all clean and rust free. Same for the undercarriage and frame. There is normal surface rust only. Body panels are straight and the truck has a very stout stance. All of the trim is there and in nice condition.
The interior is very nice. Only blemish is a single crack in the original dash pad. Has new upholstery on the bench seat. Original door panels, headliner and visors. The original carpet has been removed, considering that the floor pans look virtually new, giving the interior a cleaner look and feel. Things like the horn, wipers, cigarette lighter, original AM/FM stereo, seat belt buzzer, are all working.
Under the hood is the original 460 engine. This thing is a torque monster. It does not hesitate passing on the highway or going up steep roads. C6 3 speed transmission shifts smooth through all gears and engages instantly.Good tires on 16 inch Mickey Thompson Alloys.
This is a factory AC truck but the main hose to the compressor was removed at some point. The Compressor still has the belt on it and is quiet when engine is operating. I don't know what it would take to get the AC running again. The Heat and Defrost are working. All gauges are working. Dual fuel tanks are both working and read on the fuel gauge properly. The rear sliding window sections are missing the seals.
Overall, this truck is daily driver ready and eager to work or play.
