1970 Boss 302 Mustang
PROJECT
from
MustangBeginnings
Up for auction is an original 1970 “G” Code Boss 302 Mustang.
The original color was White, which is gorgeous when finished.
This Mustang can be restored into an awesome Classic.
The original numbers matching engine and 4 Speed Toploader transmission come with the car.
This Mustang would be worth at least $60,000 to $85,000 when fully restored. ..
BODY:
This Mustang has been sitting in a storage yard for the last 15 to 20 years. The original hood and hood scoop as shown in the pictures were stolen. We have 70 hoods with a dent or two and maybe a bit of rust but original and restorable, but we don’t have the hood scoop. The Boss will need rust repair, as you can see from the pictures, but there doesn’t appear to be any accident damage. Obviously you will need to do the floors, but we are a Scott Drake dealer so you can buy everything you will need from us at a discount if you buy the car.
If you have body repair skills, this is a project worthy of your best effort. We can sell you new 1970 fenders, but you will need to roll the edges to make them acceptable for a Boss 302.
INTERIOR:
Currently, because the car has been sitting so long, everything is dustier than the pictures show, but all of the interior is still there.
The interior can be broughtback to excellence with cleaning and restoration. The good news is that you can see what is needed. You aren’t accepting someone else’s mistakes or bad repairs. The instrument panel is in good condition, just dirty, but you will want a new dash pad. The seats will need recovering, but new covers are available to make the job much less costly. You will also need new door panels, carpet, etc.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION:
The engine is mostly there, but no carburetor or distributor. The engine turned over when we first bought the car, and is certainly rebuildable. The original Top Loader transmission is also still in the car. The engine bay is in good condition. It will need some work, plus cleaning and painting, and of course the shock towers have their wrap arounds because this is a real Boss 302.
GLASS:
Windshield is cracked but the door glass and the 1/4 side glass is all there
OPTIONS
This was a highly optioned Boss 302. Rear Deck Spoiler (mounts are broken), Shaker Hood (Original Hood and Hood Scoop shown in the pictures are missing), Sports Slats, Sport Deck (fold down) Rear Seat, Console, Tinted Glass, Magnum 500 Chrome Wheels. Please see attached Marti report which confirms how the car was optioned. We have Sport Deck fold down rear seats if you need one, and the car has its original Traction-Lok rear end.
MISC.
The car is definitely a project but we can help where you need our help. We can sell you any of the items you may need, like body panels, new seat covers, new carpet Etc. Please ask any questions, we know someone will receive a great project and ultimately a great Classic Boss 302 Mustang.
The Mustang has a clear title. We will supply you with the documents you will need to get the car licensed in your state.
Please bid with confidence.
