1929 Ford Model A Custom 2 Door Wood Wagon Description
We have just completed this beautiful Woody Wagon and are offering it for sale to raise money to assist homeless and disabled veterans, their families and other needy people. It is titled as a 1929 Ford and is completely custom..the build is founded upon a 1929 Ford Model A front cowl and windshield surround....every other piece on the Woody was built from scratch...the heavy wall rectangular tubing frame comes with power front disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, and an 8" Ford rear end with coil-overs....the newly rebuilt motor is from a Ford Ranger truck, the rebuilt automatic transmission is a C-4....the entire build has less than 150 mile on it since completion....it is a super nice and fun driver!
The unique body is fashioned around a welded tubular steel skeleton frame and skinned in Bird's eye maple...the workmanship and craftsmanship is extraordinary!....All of the doors, the windows and all the mechanisms are hand-built....each door is hung with piano hinge design and the openings of the door frames are steel to prevent sag and rattles....the floors in the rear are hardwood, the trim pieces include ash, maple, cherry and walnut woods. There is a custom wood steering wheel on the tilt column and a very nice AM/FM/CD multi-speaker sound system...the taillights are frenched and the stance is enhanced by staggered height radial tires on billet wheels.
The top is finished with material used for high-end boat covers...the glass is lightly smoked, the upholstery is burgundy vinyl and a light tweed.. the carpet is burgundy as well ......finally, the body is shot with an outrageous deep metallic burgundy...the cowl, hood, radiator surround and running board are all metal-the front and rear fenders are fiberglass...fitment everywhere is excellent......
This represents nearly a 4 year project.....as noted earlier, nearly everything on the Woody is custom.....there is no way to accurately measure the amount of time and design talent it took to create this piece...we will be setting a reserve that is fair and realistic, knowing there are very few Woody street rods that are not priced over 40K that can compare to what is being offered here.....we want to honor and respect those veterans who are facing real-life challenges right now and we hope to help who ever we can after the sale..please feel free to ask questions.....the Woody is being sold as is, where is with no warranty of any type written or implied...we can say it runs and drives very nicely and draws a tremendous amount of attention wherever it goes--thank you for your consideration
On Feb-27-18 at 13:16:14 PST, seller added the following information:We want to be certain there is no misunderstanding our comments regarding the reserve price we have set....this vehicle is very comparable in terms of the quality of the build to many other Custom Woody Wagons we have known of in the past few years that have sold in excess of $40K...however, the reserve is set at over $14K LESS than that figure...our goal is to address the needs of those who have served their country and are now facing serious daily living challenges.. setting a price so high that a sale will likely not occur and thus, prevent us from our mission work makes no sense -thank you and good luck on the bidding
