Like so many things modern-era Shelby, the story of Unique Performance builds is a bit of a convoluted tale. But, like so many things classic-era Shelby, that story is part of what makes the cars so cool and so collectable. Back in 2001, Shelby authorized the Dallas-area firm to build 400 GT500Es and 75 GT500E Super Snakes. Unfortunately, Unique Performance experienced major financial strain, and only 120 GT500Es made it out of the hole. Scheduled for a six month build, this Shelby was delayed ...for eight additional months. That 14-month gestation debuted the car in late 2007, a mere six weeks prior to Unique's official shutdown. And today, sporting a fresh paint job that dresses glossy Pepper Gray 2-stage in Metallic Black stripes, this Ford rolls as one of the coolest, fastest, most lust worthy and most exclusive Mustangs on the planet! Professionally assembled by Keith Craft Performance Engines of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, the car's 410 cubic inch Windsor V8 twists stout 11 to 1 compression into big horsepower and gobs of stump-pulling torque! Power flows to a RAM hydraulic clutch, which engages a tough Tremec TKO600 5-speed. That gearbox twists an aluminum driveshaft, which is threaded to a 9-inch Currie axle that's finished with a Truetrac differential and 3.50 gears. That rear end rolls on a tailored Unique Performance suspension, which follows a coil-over front-clip that's built around Total Control Products power rack-and-pinion steering. At the corners, beefy calipers clench drilled and slotted rotors. Torque shakes the ground through machined blades, which twist 245/40ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 275/40ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As. And between the doors, you'll find a fully restored cockpit that mixes the best elements of Ford's Black vinyl interior with many stylish and functional upgrades. Storied and equally seductive, this Mustang absolutely sets the bar for top-of-the-line pony cars. Call, click or visit for more information!
