1965 Ford Mustang Description

This car isn't what it appears to be and because of that, it blows a lot of peoples minds. When you go on a cruise or enter a car show.....you will draw a major crowd with this one. If you want to blend in with the crowd or not draw any attention, this car is definitely NOT for you. If you are looking for a cookie cutter Camaro that started life as a Camaro, or a Corvette that started its life as a Corvette......go get one of those boring, unimaginative cars. It doesn't take a ton of talent to make a Camaro into a Camaro. This car started its life as a 1992 Mazda Miata and ended up a 1965 Mustang GT Roadster. If you want something really unique, really unusual, if you want to really stand out and blow peoples minds.....consider this car.
All the steel is hand fabricated. Although the fenders and quarters and doors at a glance look like a Mustang, they are much smaller by nearly all dimensions. It took a lot of fabricating to get the scale correct for the short wheelbase. The Miata sheet metal was basically removed for this project and new sheet metal from the wheel houses up was created. The car was built in Florida, using a rust free Miata donor car. Why go through an endeavor of this magnitude with a poor donor. Of course the suspension, steering and brakes etc were all gone through when the car was built. Once the cars width was established, it made using Mustang bumpers and headlight buckets, grille etc...possible. The only fiberglass is the hood and that's because the hood was actually made longer than a Mustang as there was no room for the Mustang Apron that fits between the windshield and the rear of the hood. The engine compartment was opened up to allow for the approx, 320 HP Mustang 5.0 Engine that now lives there. It's coupled to a Tremec 5 Speed Trans with a Hydraulic Clutch. The Engine has a Mild Cam, Solid Lifters, Edelbrock Manifold, Holley Street Avenger Carb and Headers.
The interior is largely stock Miata. The seats were recovered in Leather with Red Piping to match the Torch Red paint. The Twin Chrome Roll Bar was added along with a 1965 Mustang Wood Steering Wheel. New Floor Carpet was also installed. The top was put on new when the car was built and it comes with a nice little convertible tonneau that was also bought with the top. All are in great condition!
When you start this car, you know you are really sitting in something extremely cool. It sounds fantastic as the dual exhaust's throaty sound is unusually hearty coming from being on such a short car. The exhaust tips are routed through the rear valance just like the old Mustang GT's.
The car is stored in Northeastern Wisconsin, in a climate controlled building. I have owned this car for many years and it has lived in this dedicated facility for most of those years I've had it. Pickup will be from that location. Title is clear, in my name and in hand. It is titled as a 1992 Miata.
I am also putting the car up for sale locally and reserve the right to end this listing early.
Terms:Successful Purchaser will be required to put a non refundable deposit in the amount of $1000 within 24 hours of commitment to purchase. Car is to be picked up within 2 weeks of that sale date. Balance of purchase will be delivered in person when the car is delivered. We can work out the details at that time. Balance will need to be in the form of cash or wire transfer. A word about ethics here. We're all adults here, so no games. I made the mistake of being strung along by someone who promised to commit to purchasing this car months ago. I tried working with him and going along with new and constant excuses and family money problems. In the end, he couldn't raise the money. I won't do that again. If you DO NOT have the money, and I mean in your hand right now, please do us both a favor and lets not waste each other's time and patience. If you have to ask your mom, or get a bank loan or are just daydreaming out loud......I promise, you cannot afford this car. Cash only buyers need apply.
