1993 Ford Mustang LX Convertible 5.0 302 GT40
1993 Ford Mustang LX Description
Here is a used 1993 Ford Mustang LX convertible in good condition.Great driving car, drives straight, engine is very strong and runs great other than an occassional idle fluctuation that I am told is not uncommon with this particular engine. Some say simply cleaning the throttle body helps or possibly idle air control valve replacement. The vehicle presently has 110,740 miles on it and the mileage on the engine is unknown. The car was originally equipped with a 5.0 302 engine and at some time in the vehicle's past the original engine was replaced with a 5.0 302 Cobra engine. The vehicle is burgundy with a gray interior (in good condition,no tears or unusual wear, carpet shows a little wear),a black convertible top (slightly frayed around outer edges in a couple spots) top and rear window are in great condition other than the slightly frayed spots.Driver's side windshield pillar trim molding is broken. The top boot is perfect and appears to have never been installed.Vehicle has not been driven in winter and only shows some very minor surface rust in a couple of places. The body is exceptionally straight and the paint is bright, the fascias do show some fading. There is one minor dent in the front of the hood, some minor stone chips and there are some slight scuffs on the front bumper fascia. The engine and drive train feature the following: Autometer gauges,5 speed transmission with a B and M short throw shift linkage,Clutch was replaced at 80,000 miles with a Centerforce clutch, fork and cable was also replaced at this time.Exhaust system is in great condition and does have a civilized V-8 rumble. The 5.0 302 engine has many performance features that include the following:cast iron GT-40 heads that have just had $800.00 worth of work performed at this time by a reputable engine builder,Cobra intake plenum,Crane roller cam and rocker arms,24 lb.injectors,70mm mass air flow,65mm throttle body,MAC stainless headers,BBK cold air induction.Cylinder walls show exceptionally little wear. Also replaced at this time were the following parts:all coolant hoses, serpentine belt, new distributor, spark plugs, plug wires, new water pump, new timing components. All emission components have been eliminated, except for the EGR valve and the oxygen sensors which can been eliminated easily as well.A/C is inoperative, compressor is free, may simply require recharge.P/S and brakes operate properly,Convertible top operates properly, cruise control works, power windows work, power mirrors work in only 3 positions,(may need a switch),power locks inoperative, all lights, turn signals and lenses are perfect, parking brake works.Original stereo has been replaced by aftermarket and this stereo does not operate. Also has American Racing wheels with good used tires. Some original emission parts are included.Spare tire and tools are in trunk. The power door locks are inoperative, the passenger's side door does not open from the outside and the driver's side door hinge needs to be repaired with readily available hinge pin/bushing kits.Interior trim panels would obviously need to be removed to determine the required repair for the door latches and locks.I have owned the car since 2006 and judging by the appearance of the car and the driving manner,I believe that the car has never been in an accident, although I am unable to prove this.I no longer have the time that the car requires and would be a great car for someone willing to devote some time to minor details and minor repairs.I have provided a honest assessment of this vehicle and have tried to illustrate the car's strong points and it's weak points to the best of my determination. Vehicle is located in the Milwaukee,Wisconsin area.Photos show a date of 2002,my mistake, the photos are only one month old. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to assist you and as always,Thanks for looking,Mike.
