CMC finds some of the rarest cars around and this is just another example. This 1963 Ford Fairlane is a factory K-Code 289 High Performance engine. There is only 76 known to exist according to the Fairlane club of America. This particular is example is the only Heavy Duty 3 Speed manual known to exist. Thats rights, this more then like a one off factory built hot rod!

The K Code engine was introduced in 1963 and Ford only fitted 200 special Fairlanes with the K CODE High Performance engine. These 200 cars were the very first application of the 289 HiPO engine ever put in a passenger car by Ford Motor Company. In addition to this exclusivity, this particular example was special ordered with the very rare Heavy Duty 3 Speed manual transmission. This is believed to be the only K Code Fairlane fitted with this transmission making this a one of a kind Factory built hot rod.

Our K code has had a wonderful history and was originally from Texas. The car has a 100% rust free body. The restoration was comprehensive and was rotisserie restored. The body was was professionally paint, all new chrome was applied. The Factory Rangoon Red and red interior color codes were used in the restoration. The Deluxe bucket seat interior was completely restored. The dash was painted with the car body and then the new interior was installed. The very rare center console for this 3 Speed was restored and fitted back as original.

The solid lifter cam engine will scream and it is hard not to spin the tires. This car is an absolute blast to drive. All of the gauges, lights, and power options work as they should. This is a well sorted car ready to be driven to the next car show.

Documentation is very important on classic cars. This K Code, is documented by the original Vin Stamp as a true K Code. Documentation includes a copy of an original Texas title, Warranty information, Original Owners manual, and Original dealers brochure.
