1993 Ford F-150 XLT Description
This very nicely maintained 1993 F-150 XLT spent its first 19 years as the "baby" of an elderly gentleman in West Texas, a region that stays very dry. He put approximately 148,000 of the current 150K miles on it (I rarely drive it, as you can see by the 2000 miles I've added in the past 7 years). His son told me that his dad's were mostly highway miles, as his father lived far out from Lubbock, and drove to the doctor's office regularly for himself and his wife. This truck has been in Central Texas for the past 7 years, where we get some rain, but not much, and there's never any road salt. The point is, there is almost no rust, except for surface rust under the frame and a small rust spotin the bottom back cornerof the passenger door. The paint still looks very good, but it won't last forever. By this time it deserves a fresh paint job, and new stripe decals. The red carpets still look great, and are covered with black floor mats. The back seat cover is perfect, and the front is, too, except a ripped corner at the left front of the driver's seat. That's why I bought a hand-made seat cover to put on it, which is a good looking addition to the interior, matching the truck's colors. Everything is working well, except that the electric fuel pump for the rear gas tank needs to be replaced. The front gas tank's electric fuel pump was replaced approximately 100 miles ago, and BOTH gas tanks were removed, professionally cleaned and reinstalled. Here is what else I have replaced in the past 2000 miles:
Idler pulley
Distributor cap and rotor
Spark plug wires
Spark plugs
Upper and Lower coolant hoses
Fuel filters
Thermostat
Battery (new 1/2017)
Windshield wiper motor
Ignition coil
Air conditioner Compressor
Converted to R134A refrigerant (AC blows cold enough to cool you well, even in Texas)
New radio/CD/MP3 player (original is included, too)
Reproduction 1956 Ford F-100 inside rear view mirror, to replace the one that fell off of the windshield glass (they never stay up for long after that).
Whenever I drive this truck in town, every pickup truck driver that I pass (whether Ford, Dodge or Chevy) turns their head to stare at this beautiful F-150 XLT pickup. You'll see the same thing happen. People will ask you, "Is it for sale?" or will give it some nice compliments. Everybody likes this truck, and for good reason. It's a classic.
